Panasonic AG-DVC10 Startup Issue

Hello,
I use a 3 year old Panasonic AG-DVC10 camera, and it has been working great up until a few days ago when I was filming a sports game for my school. I was running off AC power and then all of the sudden the camera shutoff, and a blue screen came up on the LCD, and then it reloaded. The whole process took about 10 seconds. However when I tried to duplicate this again, it didn't, until the next day when i was running off battery power, and this time, it did the same weird loading thing again, only this time, It was when i first began to record. I looked closely, (it had done this cycle many times), and it seems like the manual tag flashes green, when i had previously remembered it as gray. I'm not really sure what is going on, but i was just wondering if anyone had experienced this problem before and/or knows how to fix it. Thank You very much

Most likely cause for this problem is defective power switch and defective record start/stop switch. The DVC7, DVC10 and DVC15 all use similar switches, and I have repaired all three.

Just finished charging the battery of my Panasonic DMC-LX2. Attempted to turn on my camera but it doesn't work. The battery is completely charged and this has never happened before.

Hello....I have the same issue with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 camera we bought 3 years ago. All of a sudden the camera doesn't work. I have had many cameras and I have never seen this before. I will think twice about buying a panasonic again.

There are eight separate parts that make up the DVC10 power switch assembly. Total cost for these is about $48 from Panasonic parts or authorized distributors.

Cameras that do not turn on usually do not require replacement of the switch parts, since the problem is on the main board or power/battery assembly.

most likely cause of this problem is a stuck or defective zoom control. I have seen this one or twice. you may be able to disassemble the camera and free the zoom control if it is stuck, but it also may need to be replaced.

most likely cause of this problem is loose or dirty cable connections to the video head or mechanism in the camera. get a tech to disassemble the cam and check the flex cables connecting the main board to the mechanism. same fix is good for AG-DVC10 and AG-DVC15.
