What do i do if the picture on my tv is good but i don't have sound?

Check first whether mute function is ON or not. If it is ON, make it OFF. If mute is OFF and still there is no sound from your TV, connect it to any other audio output sources, like an external amplifier or so, by connecting TVs external audio out sockets at its back and see whether there is sound output form amp. If not, make sure that the audio processing section circuits inside your tV is fulty. If there is soudn from amp, and not from the TV, check the speaker of the TV. If it is ok, then audio output section circuit of your TV is faulty, and need repair. OK.

After I turn on the TV, there is sound but there is no picture at all... sometimes the picture comes on after couple seconds later it goes off... also the timer/standby indicator is blinking continuosly......

This is a good indication that the picture tube is starting to fail. If you feel comfortable with the back cover off, try the following:

1) Remove the back cover (set the unit on the floor)
2) Locate the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top)
3) There will be one or two controls on it. One should be labeled screen and the other focus.
4) Turn the screen control slightly clockwise.

If the picture remains on, then the tube is starting to fail and the "fix" will buy you enough time to locate a replacement.

Update this with the results,

Sound problems

I have had the identical problem from the beginning. It happens in humid weather. Unplug the set while it's on, wait a second, plug it back in, and turn it on. Sound should be fine.

I just fixed my celera k12b-c11 tv. All you do is hold the f button and the mute button in for 3o seconds, and your tv will unlock itself.

TV has power, but picture or sound will not come on.

It sounds like something in the set has failed. These newer TV's have shut down circuits that won't let the set come on if there is a short or excessive voltage somewhere in the set. Most failures in TV's occur at the moment the set is turned on.

Your two options are to take it to a service shop, or the more likely and probably more cost effective option is to purchase a new Television. The newer model will have a far superior picture quality, cost less per inch of viewable area, and likely have more features than your prior T.V. as well.

good luck

Clicking Noise, Jumpy Sound, No Picture

The SMPS (switch mode power supply) is a bit tricky in this unit. Failures in the SMPS can give false impressions of what's actually happening with regard to the symptoms. You'll need to ESR the caps in the SMPS first. C525 250v/10uf is a good place to start. It sounds like the B+ voltages are present by the noise you're describing and that would indicate that the regulator circuit is probably okay. Next I'd check things like the HOT (horizontal output transistor) for short. NOTE: If you don't have an ESR meter the job is nearly impossible. Electrolytic caps don't always show any outward signs of damage. Only by checking their equivelent series resistance are you able to determine if a lytic is the culprit.

Have you had any kind of magnets close to the tv set? I had a brand new sanyo do the same thing. I had pulled the speaker box out of my truck and stood it up next to the tv (not thinking about where I put it). Turned it on a few hours later only to see a messed up picture. I moved the speaker box to get behind the tv and the picture got better. Moved the speaker box back to the truck and after a couple of days the picture was back to normal. These were 4 large magnets on these speakers. Maybe I helped some!
