I have a LC-42D62U Sharp 42" LCD tv and I have the same problem with the remote but the screen was like had white dots on it and the picture image was ruined. So I pulled out the plug to reset it and it works fine now. But is that a permanent problem?

Sometimes for and unknown reason the micro processor will simply get confused and something weird like this will occur. By unplugging and hard booting the unit you reset the processor and the problem will most likely not occur again.

What is the device code to connect a commtel universal remote control to a bush tv

I presume you've tried to reset your TV by unplugging it and leaving it for several minutes before reconnecting, it must be unplugged.
Then you could try the controls on the TV again, try the channel select button instead of the power. For the remote, select TV first then hold the magic key until it blinks twice (it will blink once then twice) then input the code, then try a channel number rather than the power key. You can look at the manual at;

After short warmup period remote control will not change channels or display TV Programme guide. Unit must be switched off and then back on for remote control to operate properly. Problem repeats after a...

Easiest things to check first:
Are your remote controls working: check batteries; check infrared on remotes by viewing with camera phone/camcorder; make sure your remotes are programmed properly for the device.

Another option: do a hard reset of your TV-unplug it and let it sit as indicated in the manual; then turn it back on.

Another option: unplug the TV and use an air-can and thoroughly dust ALL the component input/output access points on the TV. Turn the TV on and see if this works.

Another option: unplug the TV and connect standard 1/8" headphones in the output of the remote OR headphone jack on the TV [try both]. Turn the TV on and see if this helps.

Finally, if these steps do not work: unplug the TV and let it sit for a good hour. Open up the back panel carefully and air dust the remote control sensor. If this does not work, change the remote control sensor.

Hope this helps.

Unit does not respond to remote control

I had this same problem with the Onkyo TX-SR706 this evening, and finally found the solution in the "Controlling Other Components" section of the manual: Resetting the remote control did the trick. (P.S. This problem started after I spent many hours today trying to get my new Acer laptop equipped with a Hauppauge TV tuner stick to correctly display its image on my Samsung HDTV, with sound. I tried connecting the laptop via HDMI first to the Onkyo receiver and then directly to the TV, neither of which worked as it should. I assume that somehow, in all those hours of much plugging and unplugging and fiddling around, I screwed up the remote sensor -- thank goodness I eventually found the "Resetting the Remote Controller" solution a little while ago -- I was approaching the point of ripping everything apart and throwing it out the window!)

I cannot set the time, my 880 remote want allow me to set the time!

I saw these posts recently and decided I would try and figure out the time on my Harmony 880.

First, using your Logitech Harmony remote software, version 7.5.0, log on using your login ID and password.

Next, select the remote settings tab, and go to display settings. Select time/display format and check the 24 hour format. (Note: the assumption is that you have already set the 12 hour time before hand, even though is says A.M.) I made this change to my own remote when it was actually was 7:30 P.M.
My remote actually reported 7:30 A.M. at this point. Save your changes online and plug in your remote to your USB port and let the Harmony update your change. Now your remote should be in 24 hour format.

Finally, log back on using the same procedure above only this time, click the check box for 12 hour format, save your changes and update your Harmony 880 one last time. Your finished, your remote should now be displaying the correct time in 12 hour format.
