The cycle buttons and such all work, however when you press the start button nothing happens.
Nine, when you said the buttons work, do you mean they can be depressed and you feel the clicking? Well if the unit lights up with the indicator light showing power is on then check the float assy it maybe stuck in the up postion and if no power check house breaker/fuse and if ok then the thermal fuse is open somewhere depending on your series of dish washer and generally req some electrical knowledge to follow the electrical ladder diagram ..... this is the only thing I would look for before calling the repairman...

jamcdani Most likely the problem with your dish washer is bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool does not sell it separate and you have to by the whole console assembly. The price range is between $95 and $115 (different colors) and it is not very complicated to replace it. I can help you with the complete step by step instructions and, if you provide the complete model number of your dish washer, I get the part number and the best price for you. Gendos post back...

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

on a dishwasher an ohmmeter is almost useless. the best way to check is to look for voltage. at the door switch check for voltage to ground on both sides. if you have 120 on both sides of the switch then follow the wire over to the control board. if you have 120 going into the control board and nothing coming out of the control then you nood to start looking for a broken neutral. however the likelyhood that its the control panel may be a better idea especially if you are hitting buttons and nothing happens. try reseating any ribbon cables

No solution, just a big thanks about that tip on holding down that 'Heat-Dry' button. Worked like a charm.

The light blinking indicates that the program is ready to start but has not received the go signal from the Start / Stop b utton as the switch is probably faulty.
Try to reset the machine by disconnecting the mains power, waiting at least 10 seconds and then reconnecting. Try to start the machine in the normal way and if it still will not start then it means that the switck control is faulty or the control unit has a fault.
Yo will probably have to call a dishwasher technician to rectify the problem.
