You can do one of two things. First you can change the settings of the router, using whatever computer you intalled the software on. Or you can change the settings on your computer, so that it will allow this behavior.

Hope this helped!

How to remove a network/signal?

Connect to the unsecure network, either directly with a cable, or connect via wifi. Once you are connected, open your web browser and go to:

http://192.168.2.1

There should be no password, just hit enter, then you can change the SSID and/or channel, etc.

I pulled the instructions from Belkin support:

Laptop stopped connecting via wifi to home network.

The wireless settings in the Belkin has been setup with encryption.
You can restore the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and press the RESET button for 7 secs.
It is not wise to leave your wireless router unsecured, anyone can access your network and Internet connection and use up your allocated download limit. Once you exceed your download limit you could be slug with addition charges - this depends upon your contract with your ISP.

Some times the best thing to do is to use the reset button on your router and set it up fresh.

Did a pc resolve on my desktop now no internet connection, cept on wireless not on desktop..says unsecured?

You may have forgot your network key (encryption key) but do you have your password for your router? if so you can use a wired connection to login and create a new encryption key. If you cant login to your router you will have to set it back to default and reprogram it

It's possible you are connecting to a neighbor's unsecured network by mistake. Have you verified that you are actually connecting to your own network?

New laptop using belkin n wireless router using McAfee security

An unsecure network just means that other people can "piggyback" on your wireless connection. It's not dangerous. In fact, I'm sitting in a place with my laptop right now, piggybacking on a signal.

The only possible downside is that if too many people ride on your signal for free, your connection could slow down. If you want help securing your router, I'll be glad to walk you through it.
