IF I USE AN RCA INPUT COMING FROM MY CABLE BOX I CAN SEE AND HEAR EVERTHING. 2ND PROBLEM IS THE TV WAS SHUTTING OFF ON ITS OWN AFTER 1/2 HOUR OF VEIWING. NOW IT WONT STAY ON FOR MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS. DO THEY SELL OR OFFER REPLACEMENT TUNER BOARDS OR THE PARTS THAT I COUND FIX THIS TV? MITS VS 50705 SER #124702 BUILT JAN 2000 THANKS

Your two problems are different . Your tv shutting down is not due to the tuners . First thing i would check is to unplug set and take the back off . On the left side is the board with your tuner on it . Look on that board to see if these is any liquid buildup on it. One of your picture tubes could be leaking causing set to shut down . This can also be causing your snowy picture problem as the liquid has started to spread . The metal braket above this board is where the liquid starts to trickle down from . Use a flashlight to see . If you see no liquid then you have hv sweep problem which would need to be checked out. If you still want to get a board www.ptscorp.com May have your board in stock . Good luck

The RF amplifier in the tuner has been damaged. You will need to replace the tuner. A suitable replacement tuner from a wrecked Sony tv would be you cheapest option.

Tv with built-in digital tuner not receiving any channels

Is your outdoor aerial a proper freeview aerial and are you in a strong or weak signal area. You can check here:http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/freeview_digital_tv.htm
Also check your connections as the coax may be shorting with the braid or a bad connection.once checked try ordinary channels on upstairs tv and if ok retune all your digital channels.
This can be due to a few problems.Firstly make sure your aerial is pointing in the right direction as beam aerials attenuate(disregard) signals which are not pointing directly at the aerial.
make sure you are using good quality 75ohm cable i.e rg6 and connections are good and not shorting out.
The length of run of the cable will also affect the signal as will any splitters or joins in the cable.
If you know the signal is good in your area then it will be down to the aerial, cable terminations ,aerial position or a combination of these.
If the signal is poor you can either...Buy a high db gain arial which will amplify the signal and or a masthead preamp which will again boost the signal.
please note that if your aerial is not pointing in the correct direction then any boosting of a bad signal i.e ghosting...will only make it worse.
try starting from aerial direction then connections then a high gain aerial and or booster.

Hitatchi 42HDF52 only receives channel 5 and 6 on analog RF input

If you have tried autoprogramming and have found nothing it may be a bad tuner. Is your VCR is hooked up via coax or into a video input? If it is hooked up via video and is working but the coax connection direct isnt it will be a bad TV tuner. Easiest cheapest fix is to use you VCR to change channels or get a Digital Cable Terminal from you cable provider and hook it into video or compnent.

Picture in picture problem

When you use the Time Warner Digital box, you're using the tuner inside that box rather than the tuner inside your TV to select a channel. Picture in picture TV's have two tuner's inside so you can view two channels, but they can only tune the analog channels from your cable company, and only if it's hooked up in a manner that will permit this to happen.

So you only have one digital tuner (the Time Warner Box) so you can only view one channel at a time even though your TV supports Picture in Picture.

It MAY be possible to have limited use of the PIP if you connect your TV in a different way. Your Time Warner box is most likely connected to your TV set with composite cables, those are the Yellow, Red, White cables. If you buy a coaxial cable splitter and split the cable before it goes into the Time Warner box you can then run a coax cable into both the Time Warner box and the coax input on your TV. This would allow you to tune the analog Time Warner channels with both of your TV's tuners. In my area I think the first 60 channels or so are still available in analog, but there is no way to watch any of the higher premium channels without the Time Warner box.

If you go through these steps and you select the coax input on your TV your PIP will work on the lower channels. It MAY be possible to tell your TV to display the input from the composite cables on one of the PIP screens and the input from the coax on the other, but I kind of doubt it.

I know this sounds complicated and if you're not familiar with the way all this works it is complicated. The reason lots of people won't respond to this kind of question on this site is because there is no easy fix and by trying to help I run the risk of getting a bad rating. I don't get paid for this, I just like trying to help, so if I have not explained this in a way that's helpful to you please ask some additional questions before you give me a bad rating. Thanks.

RCA 25GT511 - fuzzy picture slight static sound; wiggle coax rear mount temp resolve

There might be a bad (loose) connection in the RF isolator or the tuner (both are silver boxes. Try to unplug the coax and bend the RCA tabs in so that the connection gets firmly made when reconnected. This may help. If it does not The connector may have to be replaced.

Tuner problem?

They install plastic tabs around the cabinet to prevent tampering. You could have a bad tuner, or the input block as you mentioned. You will need to find those taps and pry off the back of the set to see if there is a small square box that takes the coax or is the connection right on the tuner? If this is the case, a tuner will most likly be available at PTScorp.com. If they do not have one, take the generic number off the side of the tuner and see if they have or can rebuild the one you have. Good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread

Bad Cable Input

Try using your RCA imput to see how the picture looks compared to the tuner picture,is possible your tuner imput is bad, make sure the conector is not loose, the overall picture should look different but not fuzzy all over, using a dvd picture thru the aux (rca)imput should show you the difference. If the conector is loose only it could be repaired but if it is solid the tuner might be bad and it will need to be replaced along with any board it might be mounted to.Let us know how it goes or if you need more information.
