Pls completely uninstall printer driver using printer disk, disconnect the printer, download compatible full driver from website and install it according to instruction....
When the ribbon keeps breaking on fargo DTC300 or any similar models (the ones that share similar mechanics) three steps are to be taken.
1- Verify, clean, calibrate or replace the ribbon sensor (maybe you'll see an error like "Panel Searching" that means " the ribbon sensor can't read the ribbon panels normally).
2- Clean the "card path" (the feed and platen rollers) for dust dirt and debris using the manufacturer's cleaning kit (or a clean
lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol) and the "clean printer" option.
3- Clean the inside and outside of the printer (pay attention to the printhead) with dust-off, lint-free cloth, isipropyl alcohol and enjoy.
