Question about Samsung YP-K5 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Albums disappeared My K5 was actually working. Computer recognized it, no problems turning it on, etc. Then, yesterday, I opened the K5 Media Suite, was asked if I wanted to upgrade, I said yes, and once the updates were installed, my album list had disappeared. The Samsung Media Suite kinda sucks anyway -- it's not at all intuitive and every time I want to create new albums, I have to teach myself all over again how to do it. I mean, how much sense does it make to call the default lists "playlists," but call the ones the user creates "albums"? Still, at least I'd figured out how to make albums, and had created about 15 of them that are now gone. No idea where they are. Not sure what to do next. When I opened the SMS tonight, I was asked again if I wanted to update. I said no this time, but maybe I should go ahead and see if it restores my album list. Thought I'd ask first though: any idea how to find the albums? There used to be an album icon at the top on the menu bar, but it's gone too. All I see are my PC, playlists, data and CD. No sign of an album. Help?

Re: Albums disappeared

You could try using windows media player to create playlists and store music files, it's so much easier to use too.

I can't Get music onto my mp3 Player

Download the latest driver from Samsung Website. Then follow the instructions on how to force install it:

1. Look for the icon named "Computer" or "My Computer" and right click on it and select properties, this will open a window named "System Properties".
2. In the system properties windows click on the tab named "Hardware", and Select "Device Manager".
3. On this window you will see all the devices installed on your computer, look for the device not working properly (printer, dvd rom, keyboard, camera, mp3 player, etc), if there is a bigger problem, more likely you will see a cross by it, or an alert stating there is an issue with it.
4. Right click on the device you where having problems with and select uninstall, it will give you a confirmation, press OK
5. Once the device disappeared from the list, click on the menu bar icon that looks like a computer with a magnifying glass this will cause for the system to scan for any devices not registered and will force the re installation of the device.

Unable to see Albums in my music library

When you open Windows Media Player, as long as the computer recognizes your Mp3 player, you should see an icon of the Mp3 player on the lower left hand side of the "Library" tab - click once on the plus sign next to this icon to expand a list of folders - "Songs" and "Albums" should be among the options.

before i had the same problem, when i thought my k5 runs out of battery i plug it in to charge, but it said charge complete and when i unplug it, it still wont turn on. but then i tried switching to a different usb plug on my computer and it worked. so i guess the problem is that some of your usb slot on your computer isnt working properly, try using a different slot.

I assume this is in a PC? Simply right click each title whilst in the PC and click on 'Rename' Or click file/save as/and give the file a name This incidently will leave an un-named copy on the computer
