Same Problem-My 2006 GX470 won't start -Key won't turn.

Same Problem-My 2006 GX470 won't start because key won't turn in ignition. I tried both keys and the same thing. AFter about 20 times of trying, I finally got it to work, but then happened again this morning. I have tried everything (take key in/out, turn steering wheel, lock/unlock car etc...) Has anyone found a solution?

Had the same issue with my wife's 2005 Lexus GX470. The issue is that the shifter is not in park (even though it seems it is). The other issue is that without the key turned, you can not move the shifter to neutral. If you look closely at the gear shift, on the left above the P (Park Symbol) there is a small rectangular box that has a **** on one side. Same Problem-My 2006 GX470 won't start -Key won't - _862.jpgTake a small screwdriver and lift the plastic cover which will reveal a button. With your foot on the brake, push the button with one hand and now you will be able to move the shifter to neutral with the other hand. Now, put it back in park and you should now be able to turn your key and start your car. Put the little piece of plastic you removed over the button and go on your way.

Stuck eldorado key in DTS ignition now car won't start

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

Lost set of keys, alarm was on car locked. Found spare key only, it will open door, alarm goes off, but the key won't start engine. It will turn in ignition, but dead! It's a Chevy HHR 2006! HELP

Close the doors. Lock the doors using the buttons on the key fob. Use the fob to again unlock the doors. The key should then work the ignition. If this will not work, you will have to tow your vehicle to the dealer and buy a new key and/or fob and have it programmed to the vehicle.
