My tv is not working right with picture.

Press the TV button on the remote, make sure the TV is plugged in, check the electrical outlet to make sure it is live if the TV does not turn on. If these actions do not solve the problem, press the Power button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, replace the batteries in the remote control and reset it by pressing the number 1 button for 60 seconds. If necessary, reprogram the remote.

Unplug the TV for two minutes, then plug it back in if the buttons on the remote don't work. Make sure the remote is in TV mode.

Change the settings on the sleep timer if the TV turns off unexpectedly. Unplug the TV and wait five minutes before plugging it back in if necessary.

Check your antenna connections and cables if the sound is okay but the picture is poor. If all the connections are good, adjust the sharpness function.

May be you should press the channel button on the set itself or there is a problem with the eeprom of the set circuit.

When i turn on the tv, it makes a high pitched sound every couple seconds coming from the back of the tv, (not the speakers) and the screen is black.

hi there !
what You'd just heard was the flyback singing or the High frequency whistle at the high voltage section of your tv set it is located inside, Replacement of defective component will do solve your problem, thank you

Sharp tv ...want to use Rca remote D770 how do I program the remote?

Press and hold the device button you want to program (TV). Then type in one of the codes for Sharp TV's:
1004, 1006, 1012, 1029, 1095
1111, 1112, 1113, 1122, 1171, 1173
Release the TV button and press the on-off button. If that doesn't work, press the device button and try the on-off button again. Continue trying codes until one works.

Another thing to try: Turn on device. Press and hold the button for device you want to program, press the on/off button and hold until the LED turns on, and then release both buttons. Then, point the remote at the device, press and release PLAY and wait 5 seconds or until the LED stops flashing. If the device does not turn off, then continue to press play and wait the required interval (for a maximum of 20 times) until the device turns off. When the device turns off, stop pressing play. Press REVERSE, wait two seconds and continue doing this until the device turns back on. To finish programming, press and hold STOP until the LED turns off.

If neither of these methods work, the remote probably isn't compatible with your TV (manufacturing dates matter; newer tv's often don't work with older universal remotes). In that case, try for a exact duplicate of your TV's original remote.

I hope this helps.

Tv turns off by itself

Try unplugging the cord for a few seconds and then plug back in. This happens on one of our TVs. Using this procedure takes care of the problem. It is like something needs to be reset.
