The focus mechanism for this camera is different from other Fuji cameras in that instead of using 3 evenly spaced guide pins like on smaller compacts or, a motor and drive thread like the S5600 or S5700. The S1000fd uses a guide rod and spring and 1 guide pin to move the focus lens up and down to sharpen the picture. 1 pin is all that can jam and cause problems. Getting to it involves desoldering the control board from the main board just to access the lens unit. Then desolder 2 ribbon strips and secure 2 tension springs before you can remove the lens construction.

I can't get rid of 'Lens Error' message and keep my camera switched on for more than a minute.

You don't need to drop a camera to get a lens error. Could be anything, from holding the camera in a wrong way (touching the lens barrel) or a bit of dust in the barrel or a gear, or a gear that breaks off. If the lens retracts correct when the camera is switched of, and comes out to the full extend when it is switched on, you should think everything is in working order. But when you say, the screen looks ver blurry that could be an indication, the lens is not coming out correct, or the focus mechanics does not work correct. I'm afraid you have to bring the camera in to a service centre (or buy a new one) if you can't solve this, by again take out the battery, charge the battery and reinsert the battery.

Sony dsc-p200 black screen when taking picture but not when reveiwing whats been taken.

Try pressing the display button several times. This wil cycle you through different screen modus like with focus points, with histogram and even screen off. The display button is marked with a square that has a upright line to the left and one to the right. As long as you don't get an error message you should not reset the camera, because you lose all settings and date and time. But the reset button is behind the battery / memory stick door.

My LCD monitor won't light up to take a picture but it does when I review those I have taken thru the viewfinder

Most screens can be turned off for low battery usage. Check battery with tester or have it tested or replace battery and check menu and see if review screen is turned off. Rich

Have a Sony KP-51WS510 with red outlines

In replacing the CRTs, there are multiple focus adjustments. The basic one first is the Mechanical lens adjustment on the CRTs, (in this case red), the second one is the Electronic Focus on the Screen/Focus Block on the front of the unit behind the front panel. The third focus and on of the most important is the Beam Centering Focus. (In this case RED CTR) It is located on the neck of the CRTs. They are the first set of adjustment rings up from the CRT Boards. If any of these focus adjustments are off they will cause a symptom like yours to occur. Normally these adjustments are made before any convergence adjustments are made. I would double check to see if the repairman made these adjustments.
I hope this helps

Focus error show up and can't take any pictures

Had "FOCUS ERROR" appear on my Finepix S9500. The lens seemed to be stuck at the extremity of focus range. I resorted to hitting the camera on a table while turning it off (because this is when it sounded as though the focus motor was trying to move the lens back). Guess what? It worked!!!!!
