Re: Power Out

Common problem with the Advantium. Culprit is a thermal cut off (TCO) for the cavity. Other posts detail where it is. I ordered a replacement at the link below.

Our Advantium 120 oven (model # SCA1001KSS 02, Manufactured June 2008)is not working. Began w/ time not coming on when cooking and just a little green microwave light shows while cooking.

Typical of a control microchip failure caused by a power surge. With a microwave as old as yours, it is safest to simply replace the entire oven rather than attempt to fix it, as older magnetrons are likely to fail.

My SCA 1000 completely shut down and won't come back on

There is probably an internal slow-blow fuse, they will electrically fatigue over time.It will require the cover to be removed to replace it,look for an inline fuse holder on the hot lead where the power cord enters the housing.

check the wall socket to make sure you have electricity to the plug. Secondly then check to see of the appliance "fuse" has blown, simple repair. If not, you have a costly serious issue.

My advantium 120 died ( shut down completely) when I was baking a pizza, I checked the outlet it is fine, I unplugged to oven and tried it again, it didn't do nothing, i don't have any light in the control...

I can't solve your problem, but mine did the same thing. I had the repairman look at it. I have an extended warranty so the call was free. He checked the fuse it was good.
I can't remember the exact words he used but it amounted to the brain of the microwave was broke.
They said it would cost to much to replace so they gave me my prorated purchase price.
I am going to call them Monday and ask exactly what the problem was.
I will get back to you.
It could be the same thing.

You will need to remove the top grill vent first, then you can remove the screws coming in from the top of the grille vent then that will expose a screw holding down the control panel at the top. Remove the screw and remove the control panel. The fuse is located in a little 1" fuse holder just behind the front panel near the top.

Was baking at 450 degrees and entire unit went dead. Confirmed outlet power is ok. Took off front grill but can't see anything obvious. Can see a fuse, could that be blown??

Yes! The fuse is usually the most common problem. It is usually a 15 amp Cerramic fuse (white in color). Appliance parts places usually carry them, for a buck or two.
Best of luck.

Advantium 120 Complete black out

Since you've already checked the fuses, my next suspects would be the thermal cutouts (or thermostats or thermal fuses, depending on your exact model number). One would be located on the right side of the chassis right above the magnetron. The other would be located on the left side of the chassis. It's the flame sensor. You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: Advantium 120 is not actually the model number - you have to look on the tag around the door or inside the cavity for that. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: I appreciate your thoughtful rating.
