When I turn on tv, there is a big black rectangle in the center of screen and you can see the edges of the picture. When you change channels or change volume, the picture comes back on, but in a few seconds again goes to the big black rectangle. Help help!

My TV suddenly has a big black rectangle in the lower center part of the screen, that dissapears only for a few seconds when pressing any button. How can I remove it?

Sounds like your Closed Caption has gotten turned on. Try this solution...

1) Press the MENU button
2) Use the CHANNEL UP/DOWN to scroll to CLOSED CAPTION
3) Use the VOLUME UP/DOWN to until MODE is OFF
4) Use the CHANNEL UP/DOWN to scroll to FINISH
5) Use the VOLUME UP to save and exit.

This should make the box go away.

Good Luck.....

My 32 lcd tv a black rectangle apears on aprox,

If it is a large black rectangle that blots out the middle of the screen then you need to check your CC (closed caption) setting. Make sure the closed caption is turned off. I'm not up to date on the newer sets, but a lot of the older ones had more than one CC setting. One setting ran the captioning across the bottom, another put it in a big black box in the center of the screen. Most places didn't support the full text so all that showed was a big black rectangle on the screen. Since I'm not sure exactly what your rectangle looks like, this is my best estimate of your problem. Hope this helps.

Black Rectangle blocks TV screen

Ok, your only problem is that you have the close caption on. You also have it in text mode. That is why you get that black box. Just go into the menu and turn the close caption off.

How to get rid of a black screen on my tv. sound is ok

If you mean that you get a black box, with a little of the picture visible around the edges, then your closed captions are on and set to TEXT. This puts a black box on the screen about 10 seconds after changing the channel. Go into the menu and turn off the closed captions and the picture will be back to normal.
