Question about Panasonic PT-40LC12 40" Rear Projection HDTV

Blinking green power picture

Have the pt-45lc12 model and about 2 weeks ago started having the
blinking green power light, and no picture. Can anyone either provide me a copy of the pages of the service manual for review so I don't have to out of pocket for the entire manual? Can someone show me how to locate/check/replace the thermistor if that is in fact the culprit? And yes, this is my second lamp. Bought the TV in Sept. '03. Have to admit got a few good hours on the darn thing [although I don't have any idea where to check the lamp hours counter, let alone find it]. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

No picture, power light flashes green. I was watching tv when the picture went out and the power light started flashing green. The temp light did not light up.

If you take the back cover off (and part of the front) you should be able to the cage that holds the lamp. Above that there is a small thermal fuse that occasionally goes out and causes this problem. Quick solution is to repalce with a normal 5amp fuse. Just clip it out and solder the new one in. I would use a pico fuse. Or invest in a replacement thermal fuse from a part store. Part number K5C117BC0003. Goodluck.

It looks like a problem with a tube (projector light) I suspect the green one. Pay attention to flickering on the lights and post me the results.

Panason PT-50LC13 TV won't come on, light blinks green then red

Ballast failure is more that likley the problem. Is the lamp light blinking,...once every 5 seconds? Discontinued part and can only be purchased used or rebuilt. Rebuilt units are available, check Ebay. Have a service type person confirm problem before throwing good money after bad!

I have a panasonic pt-45lc12

If you are not a tech you don't want to mess with the voltage that feeds the lamp. The vibration of moving the set can cause the lamp to go bad. blinking LED is usually a sign the lamp is bad. It is a good Idea to open the lamp door and then close it again to make sure the door switch isn't the problem

PT-45LC12 Problem after startup

When the lamp flashes 4 times this is what the error code means IC 2301 pin 11 has detected an LCD error which is caused by an error in the LCD power CBA. which means the lamp voltage has become more than 130 volts or less than 30 volts. Or the lamp current is more than 5 amps, or the lamp is cracked. Its one of thos 3 reasons that will make the lamp indicator blink 4 times. Hope this helps. If you need the service manual for this model you can get one emailed to you from the following link.

My PT-45LC12 has picture and fan problems

More like lamp failure. Could be other things of course but start with the lamp cause it will need it anyway if has been a couple years.
Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp assy is expensive. The trick is to just buy the bulb for your model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the lamp price and install it in the old lamp yourself. really easy. Some models are real bulb hogs though. Look them up on the net (include the word complaint or repair) before you buy, or you might be sorry. Many class action lawsuits out there - even against some of the name brand makers.
Hope ya fix it!

PT-45LC12 wont power up

You have a bad lamp. The "clicking" sound you hear is the ballast (lamp power supply) attempting to start the lamp. The warning on Panasonics that comes up on screen does so when the life expectancy of the lamp is approaching. Otherwise your "clicking" sound and the red light on front are saying bad lamp. When you replace the lamp remeber to follow the instruction that Panasinc provides with the new lamp on restetting the lamp timer. This is usually done with the volume down on the TV and the PIP button on the remote.
