Acer cdrw 8x4x32

I can't use my ACER CDRW because the old software habgs up. So I tried to upgrade my disk Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.02c / DirectCD 3.01c. My computer guru uninstalled these programs because of conflicts. I want to upgade but I can't because I don't have the old creator installed anymore.
What do I do to upgrade the software and maybe drivers? Do I have to junk the CDRW? ACER is impossible to talk to/write emails to...no response.

Would you leave this problem open..I still need to contact them tomorrow and need updated CDCreator and Direct CD upgraded without having it on the computer (removed for incompatability so upgrade impossible) drivers seem to work. I hit accept without thinking it out.

I tried calling but the guy from Indonesia had no idea what I was talking about. The MS warning was "known conflict" with the Easy CD Creator 4.02C. All I want to do is to down load an up to date ACER / ADAPTEC program made for the ACER IDE 8432 CDRW 2001 model.

    Any other ideas??

Try calling them instead of sending emails. (408) 533-7700 – Phone
And you will probably need to update the drivers on your CD drives hardware. Hope this helps :)

Hi,

Follow the steps given below

Connect the External CDRW to the PC and you should be able to find the green light glowing and CDRW should make some noise like spinning.

Press the Eject button the CDRW and It should open. Put in the Software disk that you have received from your PC manufacturer and it should display the contents on the PC Screen

If not, Click on START button - Click on My Computer - You should find the CDRW displayed in Drives Location.

Double click on it and it should display the CD Contents.

This indicated the CDRW is working.

PHILIPS CDRW/DVD SCB5265 ATA Device cannot play most DVDs

I'm guessing you may have locked the DVD region. If you right-click on the device in Device Manager and click the Region tab, does it say 0 changes available? Acer won't fix this, and claim you have to replace the drive. Can't find a firmware flash for this drive online, will post back here if successful!

Using drag and drop on a CD rewritable gives only a lot of headaches, and often does not work.

You need to use a software to copy cds, download and install from one of the following websites:

Dear Kayty -

Unfortunately, the "slot" cdrom drives are not intended for use with the mini CDs. However, there are a few options; Cheapest and easiest would be to go to the Digital Photo Frame manufacturer's web site and download the software - more often than not, all of the necessary drivers and utilities can just be downloaded and installed from the net.

Otherwise, you might consider purchasing an external cdrom drive, generally costing between 30 and 60 bucks new, that would connect to your computer via USB cable. Maybe you've considered buying a CD or DVD Burner for your computer? Either one would work for installing the software from a mini-cd.

Here's a link to an external CDRW drive on ebay to give ya an idea:

Hope this helps ya!

Please ensure the writing software you are using is set to write to a disk - not to make an image file or to test writing on the disk. Perhaps try another writing software such as nero.
