Try remove and clean the memory and fix it back.

we know if the mainboard and processore are working because it beeps when you start the system without the memory.

In the case that if ever the u can't beef at all then try to examine the mainboard and the processor.

I have an hp pavilion a320n desktop and once turned on it boots through the bios and then stops leaving a cursor blinking in the top left corner

Have you tried your onboard diagnostics? Stop the boot process after your machine boots through the BIOS, with F12 (I believe) You want to get to the boot menu. There you should see diagnostics. Run that.

The other possibility is a bad hard drive. You can test it with the onboard diagnostics. The easiest way to do it is to get into your BIOS and have a look at your boot devices. Your hard drive should be the first device.

Once you remove your current Video card you may have to re-enable onboard video through your BIOS, if it was turned off in the first place. Usually it won't be turned off unless someone did it manually.
