My main computer is vista, the one with wireless router , but I want to use my xp computer with the dell 1450 wireless usb adapter. it won't work

Dell do not provide support for vista on the 1450 USB adapter - see here
I have not tried this - but found on another forum olution:
  1. 1) Install the Dell 1450 USB drivers on a PC with XP32 (assuming your target machine is 32-bit)
  2. 2) Copy the "2K" drivers from the install directory ( c:\program files\dell wireless ) to a flash drive.
  3. 3) Copy the "2K" drivers from the flash drive to the Vista machine. After you plug in your 1450 choose to manually select the driver then browse to that folder. You should be up an running in a few seconds.
The extra connection manager software that came with the adapter won't run on Vista but you'll still get a good wireless connection.

I have a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card on my Toshiba Satellite M50. One fine day, it was working fine on the network at home, and then suddenly got disconnected, and soon after stopped being...

I have the same card with Tecra A4. It was working fine with a D-Link 615 wireless router then for no reason it stop working I was able to detect my wirless network but no communication session started between my card and the router. I restrat the router and change the OS fro Linux to XP but still I have the same problem.

At the end I notice that in simple words my card cannot talk at all with the router. So I went to the router wirless settings and change the protocol from:
mixed 802.11 N, mixed 802.11 G, mixed 802.11 B
to only
802.11 G and 802.11B

Then it works fine onb both Linux and XP

USB cannot connect to wireless network

"Page cannot be displayed" means "no internet connection".

Go to Start > All programs (XP) and look for Linksys. There should be a "manager" or some type of program. Run it, And look for a tool that will change from "AP mode" to "station mode". Once it makes the change, the networks should pop up. Select yours.

Wireless Adapter

Are you sure that you installed the windows xp drivers and not the vista drivers? There may be no xp drivers for your laptop, and if thats the case, you'll have to switch back to vista. Make sure you know 100% that its the xp drivers.

Blitzz BWU 713 Wirless G

Here is a link to get the drivers for the BWU 713 wireless adapter: This site requires you to register for free in order to download the file. After you install it, go to START, CONTROL PANEL, NETWORK CONNECTIONS. You will reach a window that shows some connections with computer icons. Right-click on the wireless connection and select 'view available networks'. In the next window that pops up (in the left pane) click refresh network list. If there are any wireless routers in your surroundings, they will show in this same window on the right. These drivers are for windows 9x and xp. They might not work for vista. If your OS is vista, please let me know so I can try to locate a vista driver. Hope this works for you. Lolita
