You should call an authorized Sony service tech out to properly do the
convergence, unless you bought it at Sears in which case it has ZERO
Sony warranty.
Even if you had the service manual you would not be able to do the
convergence adjustments as they come in a separate adjustment manual,
BUT, you also need the Sony school training manual and have attended
Sony's full day training on just doing the convergence properly on these
tv sets.
I STRONGLY recommend you either have a trained tech do it under
warranty, or exchange it for one that might have been setup better at
the factory.
If you have any large speakers near the bottom of the tv set with large
magnets, these could very easily be throwing off the convergence a lot.
Magnets do not cause purity problems on RPTV sets like on a direct view
tube, but they still bend the beams causing convergence problems.
