Help! Player stuck on please wait!!

I bought a Creative Muvo V100 2GB MP3 player for my daughter for christmas. The pretty pink one. She loves it but now it is stuck on the please wait mode whenever you turn it on, and I can not turn it off without taking the battery out. Walmart will not exchange or refund me because I do not have the box. I do have my receipt however, they don't care, over 15 days! :(
I have tried to reset it by holding the menu button down, but no luck getting past the please wait screen.
If anyone knows how to help, I would be very greatful. The creative website has no contact information. :(
Thanks,
Monica

Same thing happened to me.....
You need to download and install a firmware upgrade (for the right model!) to your MuVo.
Support on the Creative site looks excellent, though it took me a while to find the right download (but I'm not that bright!). The url I used (for Europe) is:
http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=213&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP&region=3&Product_Name=MuVo+V100&Product_ID=15441&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&select=0&x=27&y=14

Thank you.... But I do have the problem fixed :)
Here is how I fixed my problem.
I held in the menu (back and forth) button and powered the player on at the same time. It brought me right into the clean-up mode where I did the reboot, Problem solved!! I did not lose any music data either!
Hope this will help others :)

you prob need to format it.

To format a MuVo/ZEN (Flash) player, connect it to a USB port on your PC. Open the Windows Explorer, and locate the Removable Drive listing and right click on it. Select Format, and choose FAT instead of FAT32 or NTFS. After the formatting is complete, make sure that you stop your player before disconnecting it from your PC.

Creative Muvo V200 please wait . . . . problem

My MuVo was having problems until I installed the latest firmware. The last firmware release was in March 2007. If you haven't updated the player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo V200 Firmware 1.13.03.

If you can't get your computer to even recognize the player anymore, you could try reinstalling the Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250.

Other downloads for the Creative MuVo V200 are located here.

You could try reinstalling the Creative Mass Storage Driver 1.07.00.250 to get your computer to recognize it again.

If it is also acting funny as a player, try installing the latest firmware. The last firmware release was in March 2007. If you haven't updated the player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo TX FM Firmware 1.24.02.

Of course, you'll have to get it to talk to your computer before you can update the firmware.

Try holding down the button for several seconds? If you just hit it for a second, it says "Please wait", but then the "please wait" message will go away, and the song will be paused. After the song is paused for a long time, it will eventually think you forgot about it and turn off to save battery life. Just keep holding the button until it actually turns off. I think it takes 3 seconds of holding the button down.
