Question about Dell (W2562) Motherboard

Dell dimension monitor output broke away from motherboard and now i get no output to monitor to "wake it up", nevermind being able to see anything on it. As soon as i unplug the monitor cable from the pin connector on the computer, i get the display that reads lost signal or no connection.

Re: Dell dimension monitor output broke away from...

Dell Dimension 8300 Series P4 478 Socket.
The monitors VGA output connects to a video cable. The other end of the cable pluges onto the motherboards VGA output. On the cable (either end) there are 2 screw tightners which allow you to tighten the cable connectors to each VGA output. If the cable connector is broken than you need a new cable. If the monitor has a solid cable connection to the monitor & that end is broken than you need another monitor. If the VGA on the motherboard broke you can add an AGP video card to the motherboard & re connect everything. Here is a link for an AGP video card.

Re: Dell dimension monitor output broke away from...

Depending on how much it has broke away, you may be able to resolder it back on, or find someone who can. Other than that it will be a new board, I suspect.

It seems at least a few connections are OK, so probably worth a try, before scrapping it.

The back of my Dell Dimension 8200 has a Yellow RCA video out next to the normal Monitor hook up, i plugged a rca cord into it and hooked it to my tv but no picture, how do i get it to work?

Did you take the remote to the tv and click Select Input. Then select thr RCA where the tv should get the signal from (It might say Component or RCA).

Did you try toggling the video?

The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

I have a dell dimension 8100. I am wondering if the motherboard is bad or the video card. All monitors that I hook the computer up to are very dark and the blue hue seems to be very pronounced.

If this system has a video card its probably bad.
You may want to try a differnet monitor cable before spending alot of money.
If this motherboard has onboard video, take out the vid card and try the onboard video.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 w/ an 0ry007 motherboard. I would like to use 2 monitors. Will it support dual monitors through the one port if I use a Dual DVI adapter?

This system uses a PCI-E slot for its video (graphics) card. This is the perfect platform to accept a high end card that has dual DVI outputs, which allows multiple displays. You should change out the card that came with the machine, most PCI-e cards these days have the dual outputs and cost less than a hundred bucks. The dual output is a better way to go instead of an adapter.

Broke power button dell dimension 8200

your best bet would be to take it to your local computer repair shop in the hope they are willing to just help you out as it's a very easy repair. failing that ask them if they have a spare switch of the samae type you need and repair it yourself. they normaly have lots of spare bits lieing around they might just give to you.

Dimension 4550 CN 02U819 power supply works but

many dells take proprietary power supplies. if you are using an aftermarket power supply, then you may have burned out your mobo. irregardless, your mobo may be dead, and that mey be the very problem.

Can't turn my compuer on

Check on *********** board that your CMOS jumper is in normal mode otherwise change it - also check any beep sound aswell as you remove all the cables ie.. IDE cables, front panel cables I mean only the 2 power cables to the motherboard and try to start the pc by shorting the power switch pin with a screwdriver see the display coming or not ????

IF it is a branded pc - you have to buy the same companies motherboard, normal motherboard will not work with branded pcs.
