I filled my cartilages but they printer says they are empty

If you refilled the cartridges with a refilling kit then this error will continue. You see, cartridges have a chip installed on them and it is programed to calculate approximate ink remaining after a certain number of pages are printed.

For eg, a chip on a new cartridge is programed that a full page takes say .5 ml, then if you print 1 full page or two half pages, it will deduct .5ml from the ink volume. When it reaches zero, it does not know how much ink is in there; it never knew in the first place. Now if you refill it up, the chip just thinks that all the pages have been printed so the cartridge must be zero.

In short, this error will stay, if you are able to print ignore the warning and continue to print until the print quality degrades. If you are unable to print you might have to install a new cartridge. OR if you're luck, you may find a chip reseter on the internet or from the refill service.

"Remove and check black cartilage" message

You should take it back and exchange it or read on below.
Most modern cartridges have an ink level chip built on to them.
Should the level drop below 25% then most of these chips lock up and will not reset.
Re-filling them will have no effect
If you are lucky you should be able to find either a chip resetter around on the internet or maybe even local
OR
Even better empty cartridges that never need to be reset.
The second option is my preference
I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well

Go to this link. In the search window in the center of the screen, type "replace ink" and click on the Search button. Now select "how do I install the ink cartridges". You will have an illustrated guide (removing cartridges is shown at the bottom).

I just refilled black ink of my new printer Lexmark x5495. Does not recognise the black cartilage and keeps on asking for alignment. When it prints alignment page it does not use the refilled black ink....

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Refilled my Dell Ink Cartridge

It's never going to recognize a product that is not original even if it's refilled in the Dell cartridge. That's happened to me--you get used to it. Dell just wants you to get it from THEM and not from any where else. I have a 922 All-in-One....It's been good for the past 3 years.

Black ink

I agree it definitely helps to know which model of device we are trying to diagnose .. it also sounds like you just have a defective cartridge... I would send it back for a replacement.. and if they are a reliable vendor.. we do generally stand by our products regarding a cartridge that has leaked all over your unit..

Thank You
