Question about Rainbow 75th Anniversary Canister Vacuum
My power nozzle for carpets quit working. Used it a few days ok, everything was fine, but today, when I went to use it, the nozzle did not come on when I pressed the nozzle to make the caroet attachment work, What could be the problem? I checked everything. My model doesn't have a reset button that I can find, and I don't know where the manual is at this time.
I don't know which model you have or how old it is, but most models have a cord on the hose that plugs into a receptacle on the main machine. Sometimes they can look like they're plugged in when in fact they're just barely hanging there. You could also check the cord at the powerhead. Because the cord flexes with the motion of vacuuming, the cords can break inside. Wiggle the cord while the machine is running and if the cord is defective, the powerhead is start and stop. On some models, there is a switch on the hose handle to turn the nozzle off and on, and these are prone to failure. Also, there should be a reset on the top right hand side of the nozzle, but if this kicked out, it indicates a motor or electrical problem and should be addressed by a service person. If your powerhead has this reset, it's possible that the reset is sticking. Push it down a couple of times and see if that helps.
