Question about Akai PT5598HD 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I thought i had a convergance problem so i just replace the convegance ics and still have the same issue . when i hit perfect focus it never leaves 0% then says check factory data on top left of screen. i can adjust the red and blue to get it close but never perfect and it wont lock in that adjustment so if the tv is turned off you must readjust it again any sugesstiions
I purchased mine about 5 months ago. Ive been researching and playing around with the remote. This will help you on the way. With the set off, press "Mute", 1, 8, 2 then turn the tv on. This will bring up the main settings, dont change any values on any page, unless you write the origonal values down first, because the total reset doesnt return everything to a "factory" preset. Scroll down to reset and press the enter key. I havent come across any owners or service manuals, and support is slim to none. I wrote a review for the same model on a wal-mart site I believe, and it explains adjustments in more detail. If you want to try to figure out the buttons for yourself, while the tv is on, press "Mute 1, 8, 3" this is another set of adjustments for finer detail. If you change an adjustment here and your not sure, just press the exit button. To save your adjustments in the convergence mode, press and hold the enter button, it should flash a few times and center itself on the screen. If you make a mistake in this mode, the total reset I mentioned first should get you back on track. If you find anything out or have a question, feel free to write me at Silverado1st@aol.com

"Silverado 1st" solution worked great for me.The second part at least TV on then press "mute,1,8,3" and adjust useing Volume and Channel buttons to overlap all lines. Side to Side and up and down. Don't forget to hold the enter button down until the TV flashes 3 times then restart TV.
