Menu shows but no image of subject your shooting shows in the LCD monitor

For a Nikon D3000 all you will see in "camera" mode are shooting information and menu functions. The D3000 does not have a Live View feature where you can view the "live" image via the LCD, only through the viewfinder.

In review mode, you will be able to preview the images you have already taken, however.

Try this:

This model has feature(almost all JVC models) that will invert the image on LCD Monitor in order for you to shoot video yourself while watching in the monitor or even the subject. But sometimes, frequent closing and opening of the LCD Monitor damaged the flexi wire thus closing and opening of the swithes won't reached the CPU. Erroneous info occur so as the outcome. Visit JVC Service Center near you, parts is hard find if you let somebody else do. Hope it helps

In picture taking mode, press the "set" button for "live view".

You can print the date on image when Postcard is selected. The date will be printed on your images even if it has not been set at the computer or printer.

* Ensure that the camera's date/time is set beforehand.
* Set the camera to a shooting mode (except (Stitch Assist) or Movie).
* Press the <DISPLAY> button so that icons show on the LCD screen.

3. Select (Date Stamp) in the [ Rec.] menu using the or buttons.



4. Select [Off], [Date] or [Date & Time] using or .

- The Date or Date & Time will be embedded into the actual image.

Impossible. The D80 is an SLR which means there is a real shutter curtain blocking the imaging array, essentially 'blindfolding' the array.It cannot see the image until the shutter is opened. Nikon just introduced a new SLR that can do live view mode, if you want to spend a couple of grand.

You might try pushing the DISP button with the unit in camera mode with the LCD open.

to my knowledge digital slrs aren't supposed to show you the image on the screen before you shoot because the battery would get used up too quickly this is what the viewfinder is for and the lcd is purely there to tell you info on what the settings are and to view your pics after shooting, I have the 400d and its the same for that.Hope this helps

If you turn on the back LCD, the electronic viewfinder will remain on while in a shooting mode. There is no setting on the camera to use only the back LCD monitor while shooting. If you playback images in the Play mode, only the LCD monitor will turn on. However, if you press the Monitor button while in the Play mode, than the back LCD monitor will turn off. The image will display only in the viewfinder LCD.
