Put a generator in the trunk. I am assuming this is RMS watts. This will require modification to the vehicle's electrical system. Lets look at what you are saying. You are going to use two 1200 watt amplifiers, for a total of 2400 RMS watts.

Using a simple rule of thumb based on ohm's law and assuming a little over 80% efficiency in the amps (I doubt it) you divide the total watts by 10 (the cars 12 volts – a fuge), that leaves you a value of 240 or 240 amps required to power the amps at 12 volts DC.

Now consider 20 feet of wire to the battery or forty feet of wire round trip, one for positive and one for negative. a #2 AGW wire, about the size of your finger, will give you a 1.8 volt drop or 7% voltage drop in the wire. Assuming the alternator is maintaining 13.8 (standard charging voltage) that leaves you exactly 12V at the amplifier. This sounds great but the larger alternators only put out about 100 amps so you need 2.4 alternators to supply the current the amps will need. Lets assume a standard car battery is rated at 50 amp hours, that indicates that the battery can supply about 12 minutes of power at full output. Now calculate the rest of the power requirements of the vehicle and what you are short in alternator capacity the battery makes up. I would guess you vehicle battery would be dead in less then ½ hour or you need to keep the volume way down. That indicates a much smaller amp would be a much more cost effective solution.

If the fuse you are asking about is on the radio t s usually a 10 or 15 amp fuse but if you mean for the power wire for a amp then it depends on the power amount of the amp....look on the amp and find the sum of the fuses on the amp and use a inline fuse that is the next fuse size sum...
Ex. 2 40 watt fuses on the amp then 40+40=80 watts so you would want to get a 100 watt fuse. Also remember you can never go to big for your inline fuse with a amp

Most likely cause is heat. The clearances behind the radio are often not sufficient to provde the proper air coolling that the higher power radios need. The heat sinks on the rear of the radio require a certain amount of air flow to dissipate the heat generated under high load conditions. If you add summer heat to the equation, you can have the radio going into thermal cutout to protect it circuity.

the 15" l5 is rated at 750 watts rms so i suggest you get an amp with atleast that much power because if you get a amp weaker than that you run the risk of clipping your subs and blowing them

You probably have too much hooked up for the size of your power supply which is presumably a small car battery. You either need to get:

A) New, better bigger battery.
B) Capacitor in series with battery.
C) Both of the above.

If the amp is 1200 watts at 2 ohm stable you will want to set up the speakers as parrallel and bridge the amp. That means conncect the speakers with + to + and - to -. Look at the amp connections. Usually thereare connects that look like this:
+ -
+ - + -

If yours look like this use the diagram on top. You will use the + for the left ouput on the amp to the right - on the amp. This will allow you to use all the power from the amp. Be sure to lower the gain as to not pop the speakers or amp.

The size of the wire has more to do with the amp's output than it does with the speakers. The wire should be the same size throughout, from speaker to box, box to amp. A minimum of 16 guage multi-strand wire. Most amps that put out up to 500 watts max or have an RMS rating in the 300 watt range should do fine with this. If you want to be on the safe side, there is no limit to how big your speaker wire can be, only how small or a minimum. If you're using a very high output amp, like over 500 watts RMS, you can use 12 ga. wire. If you want to be on target for your size, I need to know what amp you have and how many speakers you have.

Why would you hook up 4000 watt amp to a speaker that has only 1000 watts. Try a 800 watt amp instead unless you just dont want the spealers.

If the subs are going to be wired at 2 ohms you will need a class d amp that is 1200 watts at two ohms rms i would say you should probably be running zero gauge wire and at least a two fared cap

AMP turns ON then turns off

The power antenna wire only supplies 12vdc when the radio is on. When CD or other sources are selected, the power antenna wire goes to 0vdc. The remote turn-on wire provides 12vdc whenever the head-unit is on. If your amps are powered on only when the radio is turned on, I would bet that you have the power antenna wire connected and not the remote turnon wire.
