Question about Denon DVD-3910 DVD Player
Hello, I have a Denon 3910 all other video output seems to work but the HDMI doesn't, I haven't tried the DVI output since I dont have the cable. Is the problem on the HDMI board??? Help. Thanks Beolab777
I have the Denon 2900 (about 4 years of use) and until recently, suffered from the same (growing) problem. CD's were very difficult to start/read. I recently found advice which I tried and was succesful with. It was manually cleaning the laserlens. I took away the outer housing by unscrewing all off the on top (6), side (4) and the back (2) bolts. After that I took out the top plate of the laserunit which took two very little screws taking out. Now you are looking at the cd-tray with the lens. Take a very soft and clean cloth and moisten it a little bit with clean water (be very carefull with the moistening, don't allow any waterdrop to come out of the cloth into the laserlens while cleaning! Carefully clean the lens and dry it with a dry part of the same cloth. Replace the top plate and the outer housing and the player will recognize the discs like it's new again. Good luck! SOURCE: No picture output
Have there been any changes to the systems configuration? Has there been an electrical outage or lightning strike in your area? If the answer to these are no then check the video connection to the tv ensuring both ends are secure in their ports.Ensure the tv is on the right input source for the type you are using. I know this may all seem trivial but sometimes the obvious is the easiest solution. I am assuming you have audio but no video. If you are still unable to make a picture on that tv try another one to isolate the fac t that it is the dvd player itself that is faulty.

I have just bought this unit and have been using the menu recently. The only ways i can see to do it would be to either, (as you say) plug it into a HDTV, or navigate the menu blind and hope for the best.
If you press SETUP on your remote once to get to the menu setup screen and then push the RIGHT navigation button 3 times this should take you to the system setup screen. Then push the DOWN navigation button 4 times and then push ENTER. At this point it asks you for a 4 digit password to reset the unit which is a factory preset, 5555, so type that in. This should then reset the DVD player to factory settings.
Hope it helps,

Thanks for clarifying that for me. The simple answer is the Denon home theater isn't able to convert the signal from your Bell receiver into an HDMI compatible format. You'll need to use either S-Video or the regular yellow cable to connect your Home theater to the television. The HDMI out provided would only work for the internal DVD player. This is a limitation of HDMI, not a problem with your home theater. You need HDMI in (or DVI in) to get HDMI out.
