Hi, thanks anyway. I downloaded the service manual read through most of it and ran through the tests and determined it was the ballast C.B.A. not to mention there was a code flashing which supported this conclusion.

MY TV HAD GREEN SPOTS AND THEN WENT BLANK. I REPLACED THE LAMP AND NOW WHEN I TURN IT ON THE POWER BUTTON BLINKS GREEN 3 TIMES AND THEN YELLOW 2 TIMES. THE SCREEN STAYS BLANK

The lamp will not fix the green spots. That is due to bad polarizers in the optic block. The lamp is only a white light. http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PT44LCX65.PDF

According to the manual you are not getting enough airflow which would explain the optic block failure. Make sure the TV has lots of space for air around it and is not inside a cabinet that would overheat it.

Green spots on screen, panasonic Pt52LCX65 52inch rear projection

There is a software correction tool that is connected to a plug inside the set that may fix this problem. An authorized panasonic service shop should have this device. During the repair the tech is to call Panasonic tech line and indicate that he is removing fuzzy spots and they will give him a number that auth the repair and panasinic I think is paying for it.

My Panasonic pt-61lcx35 has red and green spots that look like squares with a + sign inside on the screen. What is the cause and possible fix?

Got the same problem with same TV (PT-61-LCX65) that was bought 4 years go in 2006 - first red spot appeared, then few weeks ago got green one nearby. Fixed it for free.
I called Panasonic using the phone number in the manual (1-888-843-9788), selected Service, told that I got the problem which is most probably "a manufacturer's defect" that should be fixed for free - they redirected me to next step, then to next one and in about 20 minutes they arranged me a home-visit by support person (the guy had to drive 2 hours to get here!). Every thing went _very_ smoothly, I am very satisfied with Panasonic's support, it was just one call with few redirections.
The service guy came in two days, unscrewed back panel, connected some kind of box to one of the boards (eeprom programmer?), turned TV onto some channel and let the box do its job for about 5 minutes - then all of a sudden spots disappeared and picture is OK now. The service guy told me that the overall picture quality should have also improved all across the screen, I guess TV sends some kind of feedback to that box for optimization.
It was free service, the service guy mentioned something about law action and that Panasonic is required to fix that for free.

Red spot Panasonic pt44LCX65

Yes this repair is a warranty job - just make sure the tech adjusts the air filter settings if you live in a high elevation otherwise the TV will give you an air filter error and shut down constantly.

Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

You really need to be persistent. I went on the Panasonic customer support webseite and started a web exchange. The first two attempts ended with "call your local authorized service tech" , etc. The third time, I described the prolem again and asked if the authorized tech would have the tool to fix the eprom if that was the cause of the problem. They finally gave me a name for their scheduling department and said they would pay for the diagnosis. I was pretty happy about that, but even happier when they said that this was a known problem and they would pay for the repair as well. They scheduled a service call. The techs came and fixed the eprom error with their tool within 1/2 hour. That was about 5 weeks ago, and all looks good so far.

Red spot Panasonic pt44LCX65

Thanks to this website, I got our TV fixed. YEAH!!!!!!!

Before I found this website, I called Panasonic and they told me they couldn't help me and to call my local service tech. So I did and they were going to charge me $250.00 to fix it and I had to take my TV to them. Well months went by because I just couln't afford it. Two more spots appeared and I needed this problem fixed. I turned to the internet for help and found this WONDERFUL site.

I then took all the information and called Panansonic again. This time I was on the phone well over an hour. I was very persistant and had all the facts about this being a manufacturer defect and that they were well aware of the problem and they had fixed others for free. I expected the same same service and wanted it fixed.

They switched me from department to department and finally with my persistant, I got them to agree to come out in fix it for free. They came out this with 3 days and my TV is fixed.

By the way my TV was out of warranty. I bought in 2005.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS AND ARE WILLING TO HELP OTHERS!

Color spots on 61" LCD Panasonic rear projection tv

had the same problem on my 52" LCD rear-projection Panasonic,
contacted Panasonic support (number is on their website) and after
several transferred calls, they set up a service call with an area
service rep, who callled the house that evening to confirm appointment.
He came to the house, removed the set back cover, and installed an
EEPROM upgrade, problem is fixed and was told problem will not re-occur.
No cost due to Panasonic extending the warranty to fix known issue with
sets. (Mine was over 3 years old).
