Question about Hotpoint WMA40 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Washer has been moved due to new fitted kitchen and now not working

Hi, wonder if anyone could please help, I have tried all day to do a load of washing, but as soon as it gets to the rinse cycle it just stops, when I go to the ! on the cycle it does not drain as it used to but just makes a rattling noise. the drum is moving around and making the normal sounds but the rattling sound is constant. I can't even get the load out to wash in the sink as the water is not going down.
Any help greatly appreciated.
ps. I've searched all over for the pump and cant find one anywhere, I have removed the front plate, and all that is underneath is a solid silver peice with holes for the kickplate to fix.

thanks for your very quick reply, I have taken the said panel off and there is pump in the back, but im not sure which bit I should take off. There is a large black rubber pipe coming from the washer drum attached to it with a clip which then attaches to the waste hose, I'm not sure which one to unclip though

you are excellent, and have just saved me a good amount of cash on a call out fee, thank you ever so much, I did what you said (my partner drained off the water using the waste hose and a mop bucket) and found my daughters small toy in the filter. THANK YOU

Well first off ther is still a lot of water in that machine the big one is the one you pull but if you do its gonna dump water everywhere now if you have a wet dry vac you can remove the water by pulling the water out of the drain hose by removing it from the stand pipe of go to the auto parts store and purchase a pair of radiator hose clamps and clamp the large hose to the tub as close as you can get it now if you do go to auto store also buy a crew clamp large enough to put the hose back on its a lot easier that war and put some towels check the sump in the big hose with your ginger and look in the pump for any broken are jamming things and let me know

My stackable GE Washer Model #GFAN1000L2WW start button is blinking. When I press it to start the load nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Hello Claude, let's see if we can figure this out. Have you ever put your machine into service mode before? It's not difficult and if you're comfortable trying, we can see what error codes come up.

Code F11 appears about 10 minutes into cycle or at the end when the door should open. Kitchen aid front load washer six years old

F11 is a motor control unit error which means that the motor control unit has repeating under or over voltage or over current conditions due to internal failure. You can check the wire harness connections between the motor and the MCU (motor control unit) and also between the central control unit & MCU. If the motor is working then replace the motor control unit. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hi i have an hotpoint ultima its 2years old, it was working fine untill the council fitted new kitchens. then it started not draining right then when it was draining water was comming up the sink now no...

Sounds to me like therte is a problem with the draining of the washer due to the way it
is connected to your sink waste.
Get that sorted, and you will probably find that the other problem will disappear.

Hi could anyone help me please..My Hotpoint WMA52 keeps flooding

It is not draining properly, or overfilling due faulty pressure switch.
Try cleaning the filter first.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Remove large black hose onto bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for obstruction here and in the pump.
Hope this helps.

What is it you are trying to do? Are you trying to repair the one you have so as to not purchase a new one? Do you need help hooking up the correct wires? Your question is unclear so any additional detail would be helpful.

This is worth posting in case anyone else has the problem. The mechanic was stumped and then around 3 days later a Zanussi gave the same problem - steam emitting from the drum. He changed the valve - the entire unit. Problem solved. Zanussi and AEG have identical internals. He changed our valve - problem solved.
