So I clean pilot jet main jet did looked a bit blocked. but all clean now, I then checked for splits in rubbers all tight and now cleaned. Now she runs without choke but only when revving high if I let her go to idle it cuts out. any thought splease cheers

thanks for reply. When it starts with choke on its fine then I take choke off its ok for about 20 secs then starts to rev higher then cuts out. But if I keep it revved up its fine doesn't cut out. I took it for a run it runs good, it does wan to cut out on low rpm ?????

It would be best if the whole carburetor were soaked in carb cleaner and then blown out with compressed air. You could have a plugged up passageway in the carburetor. If you take this route and use comercially available carburetor cleaner, DO NOT put any rubber or plastic parts from your carb in the carb cleaner as it will ruin them. As for the jets, make sure you can see light through them. I usually take a strand of copper wire (like from stranded automotive electrical wire) and run it through the jets to make sure they are clean.
If this fails to correct the situation, check the engine's compression. Low compression will cause the engine to not run at low RPM. You need to see at least 140PSI of compression (throttle wide open) in order for the engine to idle. If the compression is low, adjust the valve tappet clearances. If this fails to bring the compression to a normal level, then the engine needs internal repairs.

It runs that way because the carburetor is plugged up. The passageways in there are extremely small, so you've got to be aggressive in your approach to cleaning it: use chemicals, compressed air, and a good eyeball when it goes back together.

After my bike warms up good it gets real sluggish. It takes about 15 minutes for this to occur. When it happens I have to rev the bike real high or it will die out like its not getting or getting to much...

You didn't say what year or model your bike was but if it runs better when it's cold than it does when it's hot, this is an indication that it's running rich. Does the bike start up and idle without the use of the choke or very little use of the choke? If so, another indication that it's rich. Take the air filter cover and element off, leave the backing plate on, and take the bike for a ride. If it runs better, yet another indicator that it's running too rich. What type of carb is on the bike? This is unusual as most bikes, unless they've been rejetted, are jetted lean and have a nasty habit of spitting back from the carb.

My 'wing won't run unless it has been warmed up some. I would suggest that you r&r your carbs to make sure the jets in the bottom are working correctly. They tend to get plugged up, especially after sitting & the aluminum flaking off inside... Rick

Rebuilt carbs-starts and idles but wont rev up without choke on

sounds like the main jets are partly pluged, you must remve all brass jets and seats including needle jet and its slide soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air only.. hold up to bright light to verify if all are clean. jim

Wont run /idle

i'd start with removing the carbs and giving them a thorough cleaning as when bikes sit for so long, the carbs begin to get gummy/varnished from the old gas.

check for blocked holes in the pilot jet & main jet and look for "hard & dried up" gas in passages. be careful of the float bowl gasket as to not tear it or you will need a replacement.
