Question about Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS Receiver

GPS not working

When i turn on my GPS Magellan Maestro I can see the black bar going across the screen, but it get stacked there it doesn't take me the menu. It's fully charged, and turning off and on does not help.
What can you advise I should do?

Try to press the reset button on the left side next to the usb port with a small paper clip or toothpick and see what happens and chk on the magellan website to see for firmware update if it is do it and plug in powersupply and the usb and leave it alone and let it reset a few times until it says to unplug from the usb .also make sure it has a flash sd card in it so you do not lose your addresses.let me know what happens.

Hello There, I have a Magellan myself, besides me knowing some things or two about GPS'S

Give this a try, seems to work for me and others most the time.

Try this for me to see if this works: Let me know. It needs to be rebooted. Turn off, by holding off button down. Then once it is completely off, then turn it on, BUT when you go to turn it on, keep on button depressed, all the way until it turns on and then some for about 15 seconds, now you just rebooted system. Could not get this to work with a Magellan Maestro 3210 where the 2008-09 map...

1- Turn off unit.  2- press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen. 3-While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and continue holding both until a white screen appears with a black dot. 4- follow the on screen directions and your unit will be back to the day you first got it.

I dropped my magellan "maestro 3100", now it will

start your 3100, then get a paper clip and depress the reset on the left side near the bottom of your 3100 to reset it and let it restart. that should fix it, but if it doesnt, let me know and ill tell you what to do next.

I have a Magellan Maestro 4040 that I tried to do a map update. It wouldn't do it and now all that happens when I turn on the unit is that the black progress bar goes across the bottom of the screen and...

I turn on my magellan maestro 3100 and all i get is this black bar come across the screen like its loading, but then nothing else happens. whats up??


turn the gps on, then insert a paper clip in the little hole on the left side of your 3100 to depress the reset button, then let the unit restart.

if that fails, let me know and i can give you other options.

Tried to update firmware and now all I get is a blue screen with the word Magellan across it and a black line across the bottom of the screen. how do I fix it?

run the firmware again and make sure you wait until it tells you to disconnect the usb and wait for the unit to finish the reboot.

Magellan Maestro 3100 only get logo and black bar

did you hit the reset button in that little hole on the left side of the unit? it with a bent straight paper clip wire and it should reset properly
