When the computer turns on , keep pressing f8 or f12 to give u a boot options, choose safe mode. when windows xp loads up right click on desktop and goto properties, then click settings, then addvance, then click on the monitor tab, and lower the screen refresh rate down to its lowest and then restart pc. hope this helps. if u cant change these options in safe mode use a normal monitor and lower them down to 60 hertz and then put back in your lcd. hope this helps.

'out of range' on display after windows loads but

Boot in Safe Mode (press F8 while the pc starts) and set the screen resolution to a smaller value - it's in Control Panel, Display, Settings.

Fixing 'Out of range', 'Format not supported' message

When the video card signal exceeds the frequency allowed for the monitor, the following error message may occur:
Sync out of Range, Out of range, Format not supported
SOLUTION (FROM HP):
To avoid the message, lower the resolution or vertical frequency of the video card.
Reboot the system and use the VGA mode to force the video card driver to lower its resolution. Follow these steps.
1. Shut down and restart the system.
For consumer systems such as HP Pavilion desktop PCs, push the Power button once.
For commercial systems such as HP business desktop PCs, hold down the Power button for five seconds.
2. Immediately after seeing the HP/Compaq logo screen, press F8 at system startup to initiate the bootup menu.
3. Scroll down to highlight Enable VGA Mode , and press ENTER .
4. After Microsoft Windows completes its bootup process, access the Display Properties and select a desired resolution, which is compatible to the connected monitor. Reboot

How can I fix an "Out of Range" display?

Hi,
Please reduce display resolution of computer/ laptop to solve "out of range" error because laptop is producing high resolution video signal and monitor hardware is unable to show that much higher display resolution so causing that error message.
Let me know what Windows version (XP, Vista, 7) is running in laptop to provide you more info or check Display Properties in control panel and change it to lower resolution to get picture in monitor.
Thanks.

Out of range no display

Try pressing F8 when starting the PC, but BEFORE Windows starts loading. In the menu, select Safe Mode. Windows now startd with a very low resolution. You can right0click your desktop, select properties, then the Settings tab, and drag the reslution slider all the way to the left in Windows XP, or for Vista and 7, rightclick the desktop, sleect the lowest option, go to screen settings, and drag the slider all the way to the left.

After that, click OK, then restart your PC. Now you can try to increase the resolution step by step, and if it goes wrong start in safe mode and set it back a step. That way you will achieve the highest possible resolutioon (and better image quality)

I hope this helps,
Yannick.

Input signal out of range

Did you mean "out of range". Try reloading video drivers. If that doesn't work, perhaps screen cannot use that resolution.

Oven not working

lillylaroo,
Hi, welcome to fixya,

You said, you are about to close on a new house and the home inspection noted the oven does not work. It's an electric Amana convection range, model # ARTC7114WW. error message on display is F4

If you want you can try to reset the system of the rang by throwing off the breaker for 5 minutes and then trying it to see if it reset!
But it's old and this may not work on that range!

This oven is 10 years old from 1999.
The seller must fix it or you will not buy his home!
It is a buyers market! You have the power to demand anything you want within reason, or not.

People have houses on the market for a year now and can't sell them!
Didn't your home inspector tell you that the seller can not sell the home without a working range?

In New Jersey you can only take your fridge when you sell your home and the home owner must leave a working range !
Even if you expect to replace it once you move in, the seller must give you a working range.
Tell them you want $999.00 off the final sale price because you must replace the range!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The error message F4, is for the seller and not the buyers problem to fix or repair !
Let me know what you find.

Now that I gave you good fatherly advice!
I wish you all the best in hat ever new home you buy!
Bless you,

Please leave a rating before you leave our site!
Thank You Huuum
