Suddenly switched off then just vibrating no display also

Hi Shanavas, it sounds like your phone literally hung up/crashed. Here are some steps to insure it isn't anything more serious. For one let it vibrate until the battery is completely depleted.

Once this has been done you need to plug the phone into a power outlet or best a computer. Then turn the phone on, you should now see the empty battery symbol on your iphone screen.

Let the phone charge up and see if the phone returns to the normal screen. If it hasn't done this and still no screen is visible throughout this whole process then you will need to force the phone into a "restore mode" and will need a computer to restore the phone to manufacturer's settings.

For this to work you need to have the latest itunes installed (www.itunes.com) as well as an internet connection. Then;

  1. Connect your Phone to your computer via the usb cable
  2. Turn your iPhone off by pressing the power button down until you see "slide to power off".
  3. Now you press and hold the Home button (button at the bottom of the screen) while reconnecting the USB cable to your iPhone. After the iPhone is connected it should turn the phone on.
  4. Continue holding the Home button, you will see the Apple logo appear and then finally a "Connect to iTunes" will be displayed, now is the time to let go of the Home button. iTunes then will say that it has discovered the phone to be in recovery mode and you can restore/recover the phone through itunes. (for this you need to click on the iPhone button in the top right of the windows window and click on the restore button to continue this.)

I hope this helps you. Good luck

Hard resetting

The trick is sliding the display lock switch at the exact right moment, otherwise it will not engage. Here are the steps that have worked for my self and several other Xoom FE owners:
1. Power off the unit - if not already
2. Hold down the "Down" volume button at the same time you hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds.
3. While still holding down the "Down" volume button, release the power button and toggle the display lock slide a couple of times (located next to the volume controls).
4. The display should now show "Booting Recovery Kernel Image" and then the Android Robot will be displayed when the unit is in the rebooting phase.
5. Since the device is being Reset (erased and re-imaged), it is normal to see "Please wait for pre-load data" and this process takes about 6-8 minutes. The Xoom FE is now being Factory Restored to the original image.

My ipod wont turn in. When I hook it to the computer it cuts on to charge and It wont even cut on. Also when I switch to on, it still wont turn on any ideas to the problem????

It really depends on what kind of iPod you actually have. If you have an iPod touch, a hard reset might do the trick.
Hold both the power and the home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the apple logo. Then the iPod will be restored to factory settings.
But don't worry, all you items will be restored once you re-sync it to iTunes

Hi mate.Got a virus On windows 7 on my Toshiba P500 sat.Have tried the zero key and power button, but wont go to full reinstall.Want to get rid of the lot and take it back to factory settings.

Hi,

The only way to restore without purchasing a Windows 7 disks is to perform the 0 key restore. Try it again using the following proceedure>>>>

ALL DATA WILL BE ERASED ON YOUR HARD DRIVE IF YOU PROCEED. YOU WILL NEED TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE POWER ADAPTER PLUGGED IN. DO NOT SWITCH OFF OR RESTART YOUR COMPUTER DURING THIS PROCESS.

1) Hold down the power button for 10 (ten) seconds to switch off your machine.

Please note: Holding down the power button on the machine forces it to switch off. Any unsaved data will be lost.

2) Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and at the same time, tap the power button once to switch on your notebook.

3) When the machine Starts beeping; release the 0 key.

4) When prompted by the warning screen; select Yes to continue with the system recovery.

5) Select Recovery of Factory Default Software; click Next.

6) Select Recover to out-of-box state. Click Next again.

7) Click Next to Start recovery.

If this does not work you may have to purchase a Windows 7 disk.

Good luck.

Ok, you need to reset the PS3 back to standard video settings by doing the following :

Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby mode (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later. Release the power button when you hear this second beep.

Step 3. Wait for the display to initialize.

Wont switch on.switched off during game and wont come back onwhat can i do ?

Hello,

You can try the steps below. Its from PlayStation Forum:

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

The current Recovery Menu supports:
• Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
• Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
• Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
• Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
• Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
• System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System

If the above steps still does not solve the problem, then I think will have to update your Ps3.

Update your PS3 (in the settings menu the 1st option).

Go on the internet browser on the PS3 then go on the menu press triangle then on one of them there are delete cookies and the delete the others as
well as cookies.

You could also try this as well: put the PS3 on then press the eject button (with no disc in) then hold it and switch the PS3 off at the back with your finger on the eject button still holding it, then put it back on and the fan test should be working this may cool it down. It might be over heating.

But if your problem is not still solved, then maybe you should call sony for further assistance.

I wish you good luck
