put a blow drier on it but dont use the heat. Just use air. remove the battery so the air can circulate through. It will start to work again after several hours. I dropped one in the dog water bowl and blow dried it for about 30 minutes and the next day it started to work. It never worked the same again so please dont expect it to be back to 100%. Once they get wet it will most likely not function again properly.
I'm afraid I can't solve your problem, but you're already one step further than I am: I have a 2004 E60 (525d touring) and it won't pair at all, the N97 doesn't even SEE the car's bluetooth.
And my previous Nokia E61i paired, but never transferred the contactlist.
