Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer and Picasa.
Plug it into a USB port on your computer. If it doesn't open on the screen, click Start, click Computer and locate your devise on the list of drives and discs, right click on the devise name then left click Open on the drop-down menu. The device files should display. You can then drag and drop any music files to any folder on your PC, normally your Music or My Music folder.

If you insist on using the USB connection, do not go through a hub. You can't get enough juice through a hub to download pictures. Connect the camera directly to a USB port.
Some USB devises are not compatible with USB hubs. They usually specify that they must be plugged into a main USB. This may be the case with your mice.
if you connect a camera on a usb your computer will show, a removable device in your computer. under E or F double click, and your computer will show all pictures in your camera
The same thing happened to me,
turn your camera on, hold down menu/ok button, click over to the wrench tool which is called the setup menu, scroll down to USB Configuration, click on it, then scroll to disk drive and select it.
Now try turning your camera off and then back on, connect USB cord to computer and you should be all right.
Make sure the camera is plugged into the USB port and turned
on ... Then it should show up. If not download a new driver for your camera software and install it.
