Question about Lexmark X3470 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

Paper Jam I had a paper jam and no paper now will go through the 3470 The Lexmark Instructions say "power down" . The screen says "Powering Off" but the power light is NOT on and I can't get it to shut off so I can figure out where the paper jam is. I did see on the internet to hold the printer upside down and shake in case something fell into the printer is that wise?

Re: Paper Jam

The problem is that after the cover sensor clip is replaced, the logic that tells the printer to feed the paper just to the beginning of the input roller is corrupted. The feeder roller (grey one at the paper feed) rolls to feed the paper and once the paper get to the input roller, another switch detect the paper, that tells the logic to change the direction of the input roller to feed the paper to the cartrige.

There's should be a way to reset the logic part of the printer to get it working right. Maybe pushing a combination of the front panel buttons.

Try playing with the power/green or power/"X" while unplug and plug the power cord.

Good Luck!!! email me with more sugestions/ideas... jmjc_65 at hotmail...

Why is my printer saying paper jam when there isn't one?

A really tiny piece of paper, or fluff or what have you, can jam a sensitive printer or alternatively, quite large pieces can be hidden in the workings...

A damaged sensor, damaged control circuitry or loose connection could be the problem.

Has your printer had this problem from new, or has its behaviour changed and if so, what else happened about the same time, please?

Best wishes,

Lexmark T650 paper jam message 202.03 open rear door as suggested, no jam, can't clear message and continue, tried powering off etc.

When you remove the back cover you'll find the fuserunit. Ther are 2 "sensorflags" at the exit of the fuser. 1 of them is stuck. Try to make it move again and the machine will work.

There will be some form of error clear code that would need to be entered. It would be something like "holding down the print key and powering on the printer at the same time" The manual may tell you.
There are different combos for different manufacturers.

I have Lexmark x85printer. Bought new Ink Cartages. Printer Will not Feed Paper All I get is paper jam Clear paper

Either the ink cartridges are incorrectly inserted, and block the paper path jamming the paper, or the paper drive roller got slightly out of kilter when replacing the ink. Sometimes, powering down the printer, manually moving (gently) the printer head halfway from home position, closing the printer and powering it on will clear a roller problem (never tried on a Lexmark, though. It works on Epsons and HPs). If the head doesn't move, though, don't force it. Try instead taking out the ink cartridges and putting them in again, without forcing, and gently wiggling them until they click in place.

If you get the message without any paper in the printer, check the insides for any scrap of paper which could have lodged in the sensors.

Also, verify there is no paper elsewhere in the paper run (paper out tray, etc.). Sometimes the "paper jam" message is a sort of "catch-all" error.

202 pam jam

usually it means that a sensor in your fuser is bad. If you have a P.M. Kit replaced the fuser and clean the printer.

but before you do, make sure that you have cleared all jams, including in the fuser.

Its probably time for a Preventive Maintanence
