I have turned the monitor on and off. I have shut down and restarted the computer. I then connected the monitor to the output from my laptop and the problem persisted. I have managed to increase the transparency of the menu so that I can use my computer. I would appreciate some assistance in solving this problem.

I have a Dell E171FPB monitor that had the same problem with the Main Menu coming up and I thought I would tell you what I did to fix the problem.

1. I shut down the PC.
2. I removed the power cable and video cable from the back of the monitor.
3. I removed the four screws that hold the stand for the monitor and slid the stand off.
4. I then removed the 5 screws that hold the back cover on the monitor.
5. I took two flat blade screw drivers and carefully removed the back cover.

At the bottom of the monitor case, there is a small circuit board the holds the 6 switches for controlling the display.

6. I located the button that calls up the Main Menu. It is the second switch from the left as you are looking at the monitor from the rear.
7. I used a small solder iron and heated up the four prongs in sequence while holding the switch with a pair of needle nose pliers. I had to rotate this process from one prong to the other while all the time applying slight pulling pressure on the switch pulling it away from the circuit board.
8. Once the switch was removed, I put the cover back on and tightened up the five screws.
9. Then I slid the base back in the slot it came from and tightened the four screws.
10. I connected the video and power cable and turned on the PC.

With the switch removed the Main Menu never popped up again and I am so very happy.

I have connected to clips on the far left and far right menu buttons, so the buttons are pressed in all the time and it has worked. No more menu pop ups. Hope this helps.

Ok i think i know how to get rid of it now, i did an ATX reset on it and it does go away HOWEVER as soon as you push the menu button again it comes back.

ATX Reset: unplug the main power lead then hold down the power button on the front of the monitor for about 10 seconds, plug the mains lead back in and then switch the monitor on.

Flickering and garbeled screen

Try to lower your screen display resolution: you might have to do it under 'Safe Mode' (eg. reboot your computer in 'Safe' mode normally done using the F8 key during the initial boot sequence) as your screen display appears to be unstable/unreadable.

Relisys TL766 monitor. OSD menu continually open, wont close. Standby button doesnt always function.

Here is a definite solution to all those having problems with OCS menu on Relisys TL 766 Monitor.
Having tried many of the posted solutions none of which worked. The only option was to visit my local PC repair shop who disconnected the OCD monitor for UK £15.00. Spare parts for this model are no longer available. Only down side was the power indicator light in middle of now redundant control buttons does not work. Otherwise a monitor works perfectly. NO MORE STRESS.

Relisys 17in tft monitor

hi everyone,

i have a relisys monitor and had this exact same problem where the menu screen comes on and then cycles through the various options until it gets stuck in a loop within the colours settings.

- the solution i found is to open the monitor itself. (make sure power supply is disconnected)
- opening the monitor should be fairly easy - i have 4 screws located at each corner of the monitor.
- i have 6 screws which locate and secure the stand.

- once the screws are removed you can prise open the monitor.
- to make this easier start where the monitor comes apart
the easiest and the use your fingers to slowly prise the
rest of the casing apart.

- now examine the circuit board which you will spot quickly as it is the only circuit board visible. The rest is hidden by a steel guard.
- the circuit board is secured with three screws before
removing them make sure your body is free of static
by touching something which is metal and grounded.

- once you have removed the board locate the white connecters which are inserted in to the board.

- the one i disconnected was the one which is concerned with the menu system, which is the small connecter.

- refit circuit board

- refit casing

- refit stand

and there you have it your monitor should now work but with no menu facility, however the monitor will still have the ability to auto reset the screen should it be misaligned.

this is not a complete fix, even though it worked for me it may not work for you, however you could try removing other connections and reseating them. more connections are locating underneath the steel guard inside the monitor.
