Remote not working

Could it be the remote? Replaced batteries and doesn't work. Should I order a new remote or could there be something wrong with the TV? The TV works manually but not remotely.

If you have a digital camera or a video camera you could have a look at the remote to see it it outputs any infrared signal.

Just point the remote at the lens from a foot away and look at the display of the camera while pressing any button on the remote.

You should be able to see the infrared led flickering. When it does flicker there might also be something wrong with the infrared reciever on the tv. If it does not chances are that the remote is really dead.

Make sure there is a clean line of sight from the remote to the tv
and nothing stands in front of where the reciever might be located
on the front panel of the tv. You could even get one of those cheap universal remotes and see if that works.

I would bring the remote back and let the place where you purchased the tv know of your problem. They will probably give you a new remote. Most likely there is no problem with the television itself. Let me know what happens.

I changed the batteries but my remote won't work.

Check to see if the batteries are installed correctly (polarity + and - ). Are the new batteries alkaline but old or expired? General purpose batteries are too weak to use in a remote control. If all of these steps are good, then the remote control has to be replaced with a new one. It is possible that there is something wrong with the TV.

My remote doesn't work

Have you tried replacing the batteries? If you spilled something on it, it might break it, or if you dropped it. Is something in the way of the TV Receiver thats blocking the signal?

THE T V WILL NOT POWER ON

plug the cord into the outlet. If the wall outlet doesn't work find a different one. If the tv doesn't turn on with the remote take the plastic off of the batteries in the remote. if this all doesn't work, then there's something wrong with the tv and you should return it and get a new one.

My control remote doesn't work

Hi, first if remote doesn't work, try new batteries......

If new batteries did not fix the problem, then it means the problem is either from the remote or the TV.

Remote: Check the remote battery terminal, see if its not rust. Also, disassemble the remote, can check the connection between the terminal and the remote board, see if there is no disconnection of any kind.

If after checking and all seems well, then it means the remote is defective. To confirm, borrow a remote, test it with the TV. If it works, then it means you need to replace your remote. But if the remote you borrowed does not work, then it means the problem is from the TV and not the remote.

TV: There is a sensor in the TV that communicates with the remote. If this sensor is defective, the remote won't communicate with the TV.

The TV sensor might have loosed contact from inside of the TV or it maybe defective and need to be replaced.

So do the above troubleshooting and let me know if the problem is from the TV or remote. If problem is from the remote, you need to do a replacement. But if otherwise, let me knows as well.

Remote doesn't work new batteries and tried different remote still not working

hello, usually if the remot control is ok, then the infrared receptor need to be replaced, he is placed near the stand by light.
in a rare case the problem is at the 5v voltage that goes to the receptor. more rare is the possibility
that something is wrong at the microprocessor circuit.

i hope it was helpful!! Let me know if you need further guidance

Remote does not work. I changed batteries. Nothing. New universal remote does not work either. Any way to do a reset of any sort?

Hello, you need to make sure what is broken, the remote control or the TV. To check the integrity of the remote control, you need to broadcast from the remote control while he aimed at the video camera. If you see a flicker of light through the camera it shows the integrity of the remote control. In this case the infrared receptor need to be replaced, he is placed near the stand by light.in a rare case the problem is at the 5v voltage that goes to the receptor. more rare is the possibility that something is wrong at the microprocessor circuit. . If the remote control out of order, can be opened carefully by a thin screwdriver, usually the causes to the error are loose components or contacts that are supposed to weld back into the board.

Yes, I have been seeing a lot of those Toshiba IR receivers bad lately. Replacing it with a new one should take care of your remote problems. If you have never replaced small parts on PC boards then have a qualified tech handle it for you.

Remote Won't Work! Problem with TV remote receptor?

Try unplugging the set for 12 to 24 hours. if that does not work, theres a problem in the remote sensor circuit or the microprocessor circuit. its going to need a pro to fix it as it meeds trouble shooting.
