It worked fine until I deleted the music on it.

My player was working good until I deleted the music that was on it. I have tried to sync it with media player and everything came up errors. If I try to copy and paste it says not enough room. I had already updated it once and it shows no new updates needed. How to I get this thing working again?

Try reformatting using Windows Media Plaer:
Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

Sansa E260- Cannot delete songs/ won't respond to modified files.

In order to sync the files with media player the device must be in MTP mode MSC mode is used for drag/drop file updating. try setting MTP and then sync it or just open the drive file in my computer in either mode to update the file list.

Deleting Videos

WMP doesn't recognize the players video file system, or your computer does not have the right codecs for WMP to recognize that file type

Delete from windows explorer instead - but be careful to only delete the videos, and not the system files/folders that control video for this player

Can't add or delete music

Make sure the lock is not engaged. If it is not, then you have a Corrupt DB - double check RCA's website to make sure you have the latest firmware.

Windows Media Player won;t sync music!

Turn off the automatic sync option - change it to manual sync, and then you should be good to go. Change to manual sync first, and then reformat.

E280r MP3 player wont sync songs!

If your device is getting too close to its capacity, it will effect the menu on the device. You need at least 6-10MB of free space for the "music database". If thats not it, one or more of your files may be corrupt. To resolve this, you should format the device to delete all the music, then transfer it back to the player. To format, right click on the device under My Computer and select format. Please add to the question if that didnt work. Best of Luck.
