Question about Pioneer DEH-1430R CD Player
I have a vauxhall vectra, the radio had been removed prior to my buying the car. I have purchased a Pioneer DEH 1430R cd player/radio and the harness kit with 15 bare end wires. The car is an ex police vehicle and has about 30 wires taped up emerging from the radio cavity, can someone tell me which wires go to which on the harness please.
I have to ask if you are willing to spend a little time with the 30 wire bundle? First of all you have to have a 12volt dc tester and a 9v dc battery. Take the tester and check each wire of the 30 wire bundle until you find one with 12 volt. Mark it and set aside. If you get more than one with voltage that is OK just mark them w/tape and make sure they get capped or taped as not to short anywhere. Now that you know which wires are HOT, lets move onto the others. If possible find out how many speakers are in the vehicle. Take the 9v battery and find small gauge wires in the bundle of 30 remove insullation on the wires about 1/2 inch touch one wire to one post on the battery and another to the other post (Just a tap, do not hold on too long) you will hear a speaker pop. Find out which it is front left, back right etc. and mark the pairs that make it pop. If possible to pull the speaker you can identify the wire colors from the speaker to see if they are in fact in the 30 wire bundle. After you locate your power and speakers the 15 wire harness should be easy to attach to the proper connections. Hope this gets you going.
