  • One of the scart connectors is for hooking up your vcr or pay-tv decoder the other one should be connected to your tv.
There should be a label near the connectors stating which is which.

The black scart connector (av1) goes to the tv and the blue one (av2) to vcr or decoder.

When both are black they could look like this example.

When you have connected the right connectors through a scart cable your tv should automaticly switch to the scart input when you switch on the dvd recorder.

  • I guess you can look that up in the manual as I do not know every dvd recorder and the way it operates :)

I am unable to auto tune my Tevion DVD Recorder

If the recorder is old the analogue/digital change is screwing it up. It isn't the TV that is the problem, it is the received signals, but the problem is the same.

Can't tune in tv with dvd states ext link problem

If you've connected the DVD to the TV via HDMI or SCART you shouldn't need to 'tune it in', just select the HDMI or SCART input. If your TV is also a Freeview device and you want to tune it to Freeview, where you have the aerial connected to the DVD recorder, you need to also connect the DVD recorder to the TV via an RF cable or aerial flylead so that the aerial signal passes through the DVD recorder. It's all in the instructions

Unable to tune my liteon dvd recorder DD-A300 to a panasonic tv

I'm a bit confused about what you are trying to do? DVD recorders don't tune in to TV's anymore. They output the signal to the TV via a connector such as HDMI. To record the recorder will need an aerial feed etc, which can be split using a splitter between what feeds the TV and Recorder.

You should have the main aerial going into the dvd and then a black flylead going back into the tv.If you go into the on screen menu you find a set section so you can re-tune the stations.

Problems tuning TV and SLV-900

the video recorder has it's own tuner you do not actually record from the tv... think of the vcr as like a tv but without a screen... connect to your tv via a scart lead and while you are on the vcr's 'channel' (so you could see a tape playing on your tv) and access the menu on you vcr (not the tv's menu) choos auto tune if the vcr supports it or manual tune if it has no auto tune and tune in the required channels on your vcr... it is simply then a matter of selecting on your vcr which channel you wish to record

DVD records a black screen if tv is on standby.

You have tuned the dvd recorders channels? dont forget a recorder dvd/hd/vcr is actually a tv set without its own screen and to record from channels you need to have its on board channels tuned in... what you have been probably doing is using a function on many recorders that records direct tv... what this means is it records the feed back signal through the scart lead of what ever channel your tv is tuned to at the time that is why no tv on = no signal

Grundig TV - Tuning DVD & VCR

Hi there!
If the DVD recorder has an RF out then you should be able to tune it on UHF bandwidth. The cable should run from the RF Out on the recorder to RF on the TV. Switch the recorder on, put in a DVD and press play before tuning. Some DVD's require a disc before a Menu appears. Good Luck, Regards, JUS004
