TV screen Flashes blue and then shuts off.

When it flashes blue, are the flashes bright blue lines going across the screen with the picture in the background, if so, It sounds like the Blue tube or blue driver circuit is breaking down after a short period of time. If this is the case, the uPC that controls the set is detecting a large current drain on and is shutting the set off for protection, An engineers expert eye is required I`m afraid. Ian.

Have a blue tint or hue on the screen of my Hitachi 50vs69 television. The tint does not cover the whole screen just an irregular pattern near the middle vertical axis of the screen.

The Optical Block is causing this. Due to the cost of replacing I would call Hitachi at 1800-448-2244 and see if they would be will to help you with the cost.
Hope this helps,

3LCD Projection TV 2.5 years old displaying blue hue/blobs

I would first try a new lamp. If the reflector portion of the lamp has any defects, it could show up this way as the light would not be uniform. The next possibility is a defective light engine. The engine portion if not field repairable and would need to be replaced. Try the lamp first and let us know what happens.

I have a Sony Projection TV. After the set has been on for a while, the picture takes on a bluish hue and then goes off altogether.

you have a bad blue tube, you may be able to adjust this and get some more time out of it...If you take the lower front cover off the set you will see a focus block on the inside with 6 knobs. you only one to turn the one that is the blue screen. If you look at it closely you should be able to see the words screen labeling 3 knobs and focus labeling 3 knobs. then you should see B G R labeling the knobs. you want to turn the one that says B, and screen, turn it a little counter clockwise and see if this helps. If you still have the same problem then the only thing to do is replace the blue tube.
Good luck

Yellow hue

1)Please verify your model # from back of set......

2)Reduce the color to minimum or tune in a black & white chan.
you should see gray, not yellow hue

3)Remove lower front grill cover & access panel.....locate the
focus / screen control block...turn blue screen control slightly, green and blue must mix to equal gray

Blue hue on screen

Probably the optics block. It needs to be replaced.

However, it looks like you're in luck. Sony will reimburse you.
