Question about Toshiba 32AF43 32" TV

Black line I have a black line that runs from one side of the picture to about one inch from the other side. When the tv is off the line is still there, a little darker tha the rest

This is a downfall of HD programing. Most of the commercials are not filmed in HD and this is the way the networks have decided to try and give you a better "quality" picture is to compress the lower quality signal and the result is the cropped sides. This can sometimes be overcome by adjusting the ASPECT on the TV but it does stretch out the picture and many people don't like the result. If you want to try it with your TV then there is a button on the original TV remote just under the "9" button.

I have a JVC AV-32950 and have lines running across the top 3 - 4 inches of the picture. The picture also goes black on occassion and I have to hit the top of the TV to get the picture to come back. While...

It may be a dry solder point somewhere near the vertical IC. First take look at the solder points and if you found cracks pls resolder it. if the lines continous you have to replace Caps near the vertical or circuit.thank you

there is a loose connection in you PCB , shut off the tv unplug it, then open the back cover remove the PCB. turn it upside down. Resolder the semiconductor leads. all

the problem there is a loose connection on the board,you said that you smacked the right side of the tv and it goes normal.there are parts that should be resolder on the board in order to back into normal operation.

some type of electrical feedback try upgrading your cables or tightening the ones you have. what might work best is a line conditioner i filters out any feedback you may be getting and cleans your power supply they cost from 50.00 and up best buy or circiut city both carry them or online as well

I had a Crummy Westinghouse TV that had a problem like this. JVC's are typically better built then a Westinghouse. My first educated guess - sounds like it's a voltage issue, most likely on the high voltage. Probably a capacitor on the power supply side of the motherboard or the capacitor in the flyback transformer. Just and educated guess.

Color line across the center of a black screen

Hi. this is caused by dry solder joints on the frame o/p IC. Resolder all legs of frame chip. Should sort that out.

Picture deterioration

Your whole problem my freind is dryed up capacitors. You should go, if you have the technical ability to replace these capacitors, to, download the schematic diagram, and start replacing the waveshaper capacitors in the vertical drive circuit.
