Olymous Dig Voice Recorder WS-110

Got a nes one a week ago and now even with a new battery it won't seem to activate to either record or when placed into PC port, it won't register on my computer. What can I check

    I have a Olympus WS-210S. Recorded a very important interview on it last week. Everything was working last night but this morning, the recorder won't turn on. (it's not a battery problem, I checked). Tried to plug into my PC, no response. It seemed to have just "died" overnight. Does anyone know how I can get the audio file out? Help!

    I have a WS-110, but the exact same problem - the unit functioned perfectly for several months, then suddenly died cold when attempting upload. Also not a battery problem.

    Same here. Was working fine till yesterday.. Wont work with a new battery today... Doesn't get detected on my Mac too.. Any ideas to fix this ?

the matter of registeration, it's sometime due to software or the outdated product. well if due to software, visit to above link and see what u did wrong. if this solve your problem then reply again.....

try and find the model number on the recorder you have, then type that and the following into a google search: olympus recorder +manual filetype:pdf

For example, if you have a WS-110, you'd put the following into google:

I have an Olympus ws-110. It stopped turning on suddenly. I put in new batteries. No luck. I will work in the computer but not when the base is attached. I attached a base from another recorder I have...

My voice recorder won't turn on!!!
We had a similar problem (it wouldn't turn on), and it turned out that we hadn't taken off both layers of clear packaging from the batteries. It now works.

Won't turn on
It seems to be working now....I am keeping my fingers crossed. Being that my technology skills leave something to be desired, I fixed it the old fashioned way. Took the batteries out, blew hard into the battery space, put the battery back in and said a little prayer. It turned right on....

WS-110 memory full but no files
well, i resolved this myself by going to the sub-menu, and formatting the recorder to its original state. thankfully, i backed up the files on my computer first, so i didn't lose any data, although i did have to go in and re-set all my preferences on the recorder.
lesson: don't MOVE files from recorder to computer. copy them instead, and do the actual erasing from the physical recorder itself.
i don't know if this was the most elegant solution, but at least it did get my recorder up and running again. i'd love to hear if there is a better resolution out there.
