Re: Connecting to a P.C
It it really has 11 pins I'm not sure but then my guess is that this is the service port connector which normally should have 9 pins. A vga connector has 15 pins and LG (as far as I know) uses standard 9 pin serial ports for service and plain old dvi or vga ports for connecting a computer.

Hey Erin, when you mean it does not work as in there is nothing on the screen including audio? With VGA to HDMI (assuming you have the VGA to HDMI adapter) you should only get video since VGA does not support sound. As far as connecting goes its pretty much plug and play. That's also assuming that you have set it to the correct input on your tv and make sure your laptop has proper settings. Go to control panel and go to display. Make sure it recognizes dual monitor. Other than that there really should not be a problem. Look at video input on tv and display settings (OR mobile pc > windows mobility center > connect to a projector or other external display (not under classic view - Vista). I hope this helps. Give me a feedback if not. Good luck Erin. - Joe.
I tried this.. and it works perfect for the video.. but there is no audio. Is there any specific setting to be made in TV or my laptop? I have Dell laptop with Win7, because I dont see any option to enable audio..
Hi Jatinder Kumar ,
Yes you can connect your computer output to lcd tv through dvi-hdmi cable or vga-hdmi cable.
1. Connect to HDMI (DVI) : just plug in HDMI (DVI) out of PC or laptop to HDMI or DVI TV. Than select source from HDMI.
2. Connect to PC : Plug D sub to TV, select PC in.
You need to connect an audio patch cord between the laptop and the TV. Use the headphone jack on the laptop (3.5 mm M). Check your LG TV manual for the correct audio in on the TV. (Usually it is next to the VGA port if the TV has that PC input.) Computers do not send sound on the HDMI video output.
Reading the online manual -
You should have the laptop connected by VGA - PC input
you need to select the correct input on the TV
Select the RGB-PC input source on the TV using the INPUT button on the remote control.
you will need to set the laptop up to output to the VGA output, to do this - varies by different manufacturers - But often F4 or F5, with the FN key selects the VGA output - have a look at the F keys across the top of the machine and see if you can see a picture of a screen - then use the FN and that F key together to toggle between display
it will change to <Laptop Screen Only><Laptop screen and VGA output><VGA output only> not necessarily in that order.
This is the support site for that TV

This might sound like a silly question but is the VGA input the one you wish to use? If you are trying to use the VGA input what do you have it connected too? A) Laptop 2nd VGA output. B) Desktop VGA output. NOTE: If you trying to connect it to a laptop you may have to engage your 2nd VGA output by depressing the 'Function Key' and either F4 or Some times it's the F8 key at the same time. you should have a button that you have to press to get it to switch over, on mine i have to press and hold the Fn key then press the F4 key might not be the same on yours but you should have a f something key that has what looks like a little screen on it that is to switch the output if that does not work try hooking up your laptop just like before, and then restart it. good luck
