Question about Acer AL1916W 19" LCD Monitor

Problem with picture and monitor

When we turned our computer on the picture on the monitor was purple. We tried checking the color with the function buttons but none of them would work. We tried changing the background to see if that was the problem but it wasn't.

Re: problem with picture and monitor

Check your cables on the back of the screen and computer. If it's loose you may not be getting the green signal leaving the blue and red signals.

Picture on Monitor has shadows and is blurry and colors are mostly blue, green, purple. Print (text) is okay. Any solutions? Thanks

Did the problem occur out of nowhere? Is it a new monitor and was like that from the start? Is it an old monitor? Laptop? LCD? There isn't enough information.
However, try setting all video settings to default or "recommended". If that doesn't work, be sure your video card and display drivers are updated.

Have a purple line that runs down the screen on my s27a950d monitor. is there a solution to this?

You can use this pixel test, this test for dead pixels, but it will also help with stuck pixels, move through the colors, look at each color to see if the line remains on each color, then switch between colors as fast as you can, do this at least 5 times cycling through the colors. If this does not help I think you will have to go to the MFG website and check your warranty. If you don't have one or it's expired and you end up buying a new one, make sure you check, one of the best places around for computer parts.

Colors are not correct, blues are purple, colors are not true. The colors fade, brown and reds also go to purple. We have tried to adjust, but cannot seem to get it right.

Did you check all the pins of the video cable, also make sure they are seated properly, and to be sure, you should try it with another PC to make sure it is not video card problem.

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

LCD Dell Monitor displaying purple and green rather then picture.

sounds like your monitor is starting to go out. if there are any speakers near your monitor, it is likely magnetic interference. try moving your monitor to a different area and see if it still does this. if it does, i would replace the monitor. if it doesn't, just simply reorganize the area around your monitor and it should go away after degaussing the screen.

Color Resolution

Sounds like a piture tube or internal video driver in your monitor. You probably lost the green channel. If the monitor is dated I would replace it.

Screen color is purple

if you have access to another monitor use if to verify the monitor is the problem and not the video card of the computer.
does the monitor allow you to adjust color and tint(hue) because the tint or hue control changes the overall color from green to purple. or the color control circuit has failed leaving you stuc with a purple screen.

Did you have another monitor to verify the problem whether it is related with the Video card or the monitor itself?

Severe gradient issues / problems with darker grays

So your sure when you go into the monitor settings, and color, it is set to like 9300k or something? It probably isn't the monitor, because the video games you said display just fine.
