Question about RCA P46810LV 46" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Yellow corners on 56" RCA Rear Projection TV

There is a yellow haze in all four corners of the screen. You can't see it too much when then screen has dark colors in the corner but if the screen is supposed to be all white there will be yellow haze in all 4 corners. Is there just something that needs to be cleaned? Like the lamps or back side of the screen?

Possibly cleaning of the lens and the mirror might improve the picture. it could be what is termed a glycol or fliuid issue. dirty glycol will cause this yellow halo effect. the glycol came be changed a rather expensive and evovled repair i think

Yellow haze on screen

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

I have proscan 56'projection tv when turn on only have sound and close caption no picture Please some one help1!!! thank you.

check the video connection that is connected to the tv. If you are using RCA style plugs (red, white, and yellow) you can try swapping the colors around (put the red in the white, the yellow in the red, and the white in the yellow on the tv and your other device....cable box, vcr, dvd, etc.) this is a great way to test the cable you are using to send video to the tv. it might just be the cable!

I changed the LCD lamp, but there is still a yellow haze.

The yellow haze is the result of the blue polarizer burnt-in, you will find it sitting in front of the dlp chip.

Yellow Haze Center Screen

The blue filter is burnt out. A very common problem in Zenith DLPs. There are 3 color filters, 1 blue (a pinkish color), 1 green (a grayish brown) and 1 red (it is red) they give you your colors for you picture. This is a simple fix.

Hitachi 60 in. 60V715 Yellow Haze

I would first check and see if any software updates are out on this set, you can call Hitachi, if not that then it could be the engine assemble having problems.

Yellow haze in center of screen

Typically caused by a defective light engine. Part is over $1000 last time I checked on it. Could also be caused by a bad "digital board". I've seen this symptom more than once on this set.
