Question about Norelco Advantage 6705 X Electric Shaver
My Norelco Advantage doesn't work, just an intermitent red light and then nothing. I bought it 5 years ago. I must change batteries, How can I do?

I've changed out the batteries. You have to buy them on line cause they are two AA sized nicads that are connected with soldered tabs and have two free tabs that must be soldered in place. That means you have to unsolder the old ones. Make sure you notice the + and - sides of the old ones so the new ones are installed the same way. The case is opened by removing 5 screws. Note how a black plastic clip on top of the motor is placed cause it will fall out. The motor has to come out with the batteries and the circuit board under the batteries. The motor is connected to the circuit board with fragil thin metal leads that can break. One of mine did and I repaired it by soldering a short piece of thin, insulated phone wire. Mine worked really well until I let it run too far down before recharging and now my red light is on, too. I did get it to recharge by dismantling partly and reassembling; may be a faulty connection cause it went back to the red light and wouldn't run until I whacked it a couple times on my hand. It now runs, but still have red light which may mean its not charging. Looking for a manual to see what the red light means. I've also had it blink with a red light several times which may be a diagnostic light indicaton.
