My N2635w 26 in. LCD Television is set to VGA, and won't change

Likely the power supply has quit.

Tries websites like Ebay.com,Amazon.com to buy a used or new tv base stand.

sound like main logic board bad, google your set and main board and check replace

try pressing and holding one of the "channel up" or "channel down" buttons for 5 seconds or more... While holding the button, you should see a progress bar that indicates "menu locking" or "menu unlocking". That should fix your problem...I found that out by accident on my TV.

Check to make sure you do have 5vdc, 12vdc, 24vdc before ordering the new part you do not need.

It can be bad main controller board. Check power supply first.

I'm not sure what you mean by "power lock", that phrase is not in the manual. Hopefully you'll find what you need though.

I need a stand as well and can't find one yet but the manual says this Using the Parent Controls 1. Press the MENU button to display the OSD main menu. 2. Press ▲ or ▼ to select the “Parental” menu. 3. Enter the password. (The default password is 0000, which can be changed. There is also a universal password 3660 that remains eternally valid.)

the t-con board need replacement( it is found on the top middle section of the lcd panel)

The TV has a automatic scalier chip installed so it depends on the input signal that you are using. For example you are using a HDMI connection with a xbox 360 and you set the display setting to 720P then the TV will display it in 720P. If you set it to 480P then it will display it in 480P.
