I cannot hear any sound in my laptop computer.

Hi brightmensah
Try the following.... *Try to install the audio driver again(if you are getting symbol like this

*If you are not getting this symbol check your speakers by connecting a headset or any audio device to Headset If you are getting sound on headset means this problem is related your speaker connections it's better to contact service center or you can log to to change your speaker or it's connections.
Thank you

The sound output is distorted as well as there is a continuous buzzing sound which cannot be reduced or eliminated

This problem is cause by either your onboard soundcard or the speaker itself,

you should try to use and external speaker to check if its ok, if its ok, then probably your speaker is causing it, if not, then you should have your unit RMA.

Just intalled new HP keypad to computer, I am not getting sound speakers are on, what do I do?

check on the notification area if your speaker is enable or not or maybe the volume is lower to zero that why you are not getting any sound, just right click on the speaker icon and open the volume mixer then you will if it is mute or just lowered the volume

My laptop speaker won't stop buzzing. It began

A buzzing/humm sound could be a earth loop problem. This is caused by connecting amp equipment into different mains power outlets.
Use a power board and connect all your amps and laptop to the one power board.

I have a 4 month old Dell Studio 1535 laptop, with audio problems

Firstly check that the microphone level is down or turned off as this sounds like some sort of feedback that's being produced.

Check the microphone and try to play music again.

Please post back

Good luck.

Dont know how to turn sound on and off

if you are not getting the sound then try checking the sound button on the right bottom side of the screen that has been put on "mute" or not...
check for the speaker power button or the volume button on the speakers itself...
also try uninstalling & reinstalling the sound drivers...

Reply - still have dv 600 speaker issue - thank you!

It is strange that your headphones aren't giving you audio. Did you turn the Windows volume back up? If so, go into control panel and see if there are any problematic drivers in the audio section. Uninstall that ISATAP for starters, plus any other ones that show an "X" or "!". Then reboot and see what happens.

You must always only use "Line out" of an amplifier, NEVER speaker out.

Sound card broken? No normal sound and a constant buzz...

Sounds like you tried everything possible. Based on what you have stated that you tried already I would agree with your diagnosis of a bad sound card.
If this was my Laptop I would be looking for a nice set of USB speakers and Microphone or a headset.
You can either keep the speakers turned down or you may be able to disable the onboard sound through a BIOS setting.

Or even better. Here is a USB sound card with speaker and microphone jacks. Pretty Cheap too.
