Thank you so much for your help. I have opened the Device Manager and IDE controllers are enabled. It also tells me both devices are working properly (but they aren't because neither will open) The eject from the computer icon does not work either.

Can you tell me where I check for the "bios?"

Make sure that the second IDE controller is enabled in the BIOS and device manager, also that the ribbon and power cables are on tight.

open the my computer icon and right click on the drive letter that wont open.. you should see an eject option. Worked for me a few times when certain programs locked it from ejecting with the button.

When you start your computer. there is a message to got o setup, you have to hit the key it says to (delete,or F1,etc.)

try this too: go again to device manager, unistall both primary IDE channels, the secondary, and the CD rom in question before restarting.. then restart, You're comptuer should find and recognize new hardware. If it still fails to find the drive in question then u're looking at a bad connection cable or a failure in the drive itself, or a motherboard failure.

Looking for a replacement DVR/CD drive, understand it is only supplied as a complete unit, Pioneer want over$300 for this, anyone with any polite suggestions please??? (Drive does not recognise any form...

I had the same problem as yours before. What I did was I replaced the original dvd drive of my dvd player with a dvd drive of a pc and it worked but It would entirely depend on what kind of connector your dvd player has. Mine had the standard IDE connector that's why I was able to replace it with another dvd drive from a pc.

My Pioneer DVD/CD writer has been working perfectly fine the past 5 months or so. And my computer won't recognize it at all now. Any suggestions?

control panel admistrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you can you can update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

hope this helps

My pioneer dvdrw dvr 107d door wont open when i press button /have cd stuck inside (worked 5 mins ago) can still view dvd content/ will driver update fix ? please help

The drive may have come loose in your pc and is stopping the door to open.Hold open the front flap and press the eject button. If it wont eject your disk straighten out a paperclip and holding the front flap open look at the front of your drive and you will see a small hole.Push the paperclip through the hole and it will release the catch and eject your disk, You may have to push hard .Hope this helps you.

I need pioneer dvr-215bk dvd rom drivers

dvd roms do not need drivers they are a standard format drive and should be recognised by your pc immediately.

in order to play DVDs you will however need a Software DVD player like WINDVD or POWER DVD

DVD-RWs do not need drivers but may require that the CD burning software that you use may need updating.

Pioneer dvr 112d power calibration error

updated firmware will not help. this is a known issue with Pioneer DVR-112D, drive needs to be replaced. Contact Pioneer for a free replacement, here is the url http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/Important%3A+Notice+Regarding+CD+Read+and+Write+Functionality+in+Certain+Pioneer+Computer+Drive+Models

The issue occurs only under limited environmental and use conditions that are not typical for most end users, so Pioneer anticipates that most users will not be affected. If you are not experiencing any issues currently, there is no need to take immediate action. The service issue does not pose any health or safety risk.
Pioneer is aware of a potential issue with the above drives’ CD (not DVD) read/write capability. Under certain environmental and heavy use conditions, the above drives may become unable to read or write to CDs. To address this issue, for any of the above model drives that become unable to read and/or write to CDs, Pioneer will provide a replacement unit (which may be a newer model number) at no extra charge, shipping prepaid, subject to the terms and conditions of Pioneer’s standard limited warranty(excluding duration).
Again, we anticipate that most drives will not be affected. However, if your DVR-1810, DVR-2810, DVR-X122, DVR-112D, DVR-112DBK, or DVR-112DSV drive becomes unable to read or write to CDs, please contact Pioneer Customer Service by one of the following methods:
Complete an online replacement request form and submit it online. Once your model and serial number are validated, you will print out the completed form to mail along with the affected drive.
This online form is for United States customers only. For Canadian residents, please contact Pioneer Electronics of Canada customer service directly at 877-283-5901.
